For context. I recently switched from DPS classes to healer and jumped into PvP. Mainly SS and blitz.
While Blitz is pretty easy to figure out as a new healer, and Blame usually is more general with “where are the healers?” And that sort of thing. I did reach 1800 on hpal there, not much but I am happy with it.
Shuffle on the other hand is crazy. Did 2 games on my disc priest. While not in full conquest gear I do have ilvl around 636 and some enchants which is decent I think. First game was relatively easy. I got thrown into a game where everyone at least 1600 rating but I went 6-0, second one however was whole different ball game. People were rated even higher, pally heal on the other team was like 1800 I think and I went 2-4. But the abuse I got from the mage was crazy, threats, wishing harm etc. while LoSing me constantly. I do get my positioning is terrible but that is what I am there to learn.
How does one tackle learning PvP? Find community or something? I intended to play solo PvP while finding PvE guild to be honest. Does one just turn off chat and power through? Or do you just keep losing until you don’t get into lobbies with people so much higher rated with you?
Just ignore those NPC”s .
Don’t engage in arguing, ignore whispers. If feel like put in ignore list most annoying players.
First have to thicken your skin and grind games. Toxic players are at all ratings, its part of the competitive gameplay.
As firebush said above, ignore those. I didnt, and I just got silenced for 7 days
Best tip - find guides on your class and practice!! Some people ive seen this season had 12.000 games on 1 healer, which is a remarkable feat in itself tbh. Theres something that applies to real life aswell, its called 70-20-10. You will learn 10% from reading, 20% from others and talking about it, and 70% is what you learn by actually doing it.
But if you didnt understand a thing to start with you would never have gotten 6-0 in any game most likely. Healing is way harder to climb then dps so dont worry about rating either way, it will come automatically when you improve.
And always HEALING OVER CC. As a healer, you need the HPS to be rolling. Pushing and diving deep for cc is usually never worth it unless you can be 100% sure you will score a kill.
I was SV hunter and it was some time ago. And war Rakar was raging at 1800-1900 rating dont remember, but low ratings. You literally were at same rating and saying to give up and what not? 2 cell warrior
You ask your dad to book in psychologist.
I got bored of Mythic+ and PVE content in general and decided to focus on PvP instead.
Coming from competitive games like Dota, and being a Tank in M+ for a while, I thought I had thick skin and could handle anything—until I stepped into WoW PvP. The toxicity in this game regardless of which MMR is insane.
I learnt that the key is to ignore the toxic chats/whispers and focus on what gets you the win.
Keep queuing—practice makes perfect. (One of my chars has over 1k shuffle rounds)
I’m not a Gladiator or anything, but I’ve reached 2.1k rating on three characters so far. Not long ago, even hitting 1.8k felt out of reach.
Now, I believe I can push even higher—I’m just trying figuring out which class suits me best in PvP.
This is my way as a healer. I can speak only for resto shaman and holy priest which I play at 1800+ cr. Maybe more favorable classes should be played differently.
Just play a lot under the following rules.
-Get a mouse with side buttons for instant spells
-Use keyboard for casting spells
-Play lots of random bgs to get used to the class. (You ve done it i assume)
-In arena, position yourself as best you can. That means you always are able to watch the 3 enemies of the other team as if you are the apex of a cone and they are inside it. If one of them is behind you, you lose. You always look at arena and sometimes to the frames of party. That way
-You can avoid cc
-You can apply cc. Apply cc enough times to enemy dps to stop heavy damage. Apply cc to healer some times too.
-Mostly heal. Bind mouse roll to party 1 and party 2 to change target to heal.
-Do some damage. Make a macro like this to do damage without changing target
/cast [@targettarget,exists,harm] Smite
-You must always be aware again for the cc that is going to income. Mages, rogues, warlocks, priests. Avoid them or stop them.
-Dont chat, but if you do, make them happy with nice words even if they dont deserve it.
