How does Raid Finder work?

How does Raid Finder work? It’s inactive in my Group Finder menu. The tooltip says ‘This feature becomes active at max level’, but I’m already at a post-squish level 50.

The max level is currently 60

U’ll need to be lvl 60 and if i remember correctly at least 170 ilvl to enter via Raidfinder.

So I have to buy Shadowlands before I can use Raid Finder? Or can I get from 50 to 60 without Shadowlands?

Yes, Raidfinder is tied to the current expansion since its about the current raid which would be Castle Nathria at the moment.

You will need Shadowlands to enter it.

At least as far as I know you need it to lvl to 60, too.

OK, thanks.

I’m fairly new to WoW. So pre-Shadowlands was there no Raid Finder, or did it just work differently?

It is ok. Glad to help. Welcome to Azeroth!

The Raidfinder in general always just gives access to the raids of the current /newest expansion.

In Battle for Azeroth for example it was tied to BFA raids.
Once SL launched and the Raidfinder was released it was Castle Nathria as the only raid tier that is currently active in SL.
