How does raid lockout work in TBC?

Okay so, if kill half of Karazhan, can I join a fresh group to kill the bosses again for not loot?
Or I simply won’t be able to enter the instance with the fresh group?

Soon as you kill a boss everyone will be locked to that instance id if you were to go again with a different group they would all be locked to that instance id

if you tried to join a different Id with bosses dead you would be completely locked out.

If some other group clears your instance id all the bosses would be dead for you until next reset

Everyone who kills a boss gets an ID number unique to that group.

If you enter the raid first then people will get your ID number and be very annoyed with you as that means they cannot kill the bosses you already have.

But if I enter second, do I walk into my lock or the fresh clear?

It won’t let you enter the instance if you’re locked to a different ID. At least that’s how it was in Classic.

That’s a shame, guess I can’t tank for two different groups then. :anguished:

Yea. That’s kind of the point of lockouts

Yeah, my guild is lacking people from the 2nd Kara group. I was wondering if I could come even if I wouldn’t get loot.

Nope, you can’t even go. The lockout is there to stop you going more than once.

At a brief glance I see no reason not to say it works just like mythic raiding in retail.
