How does the mount collection achievement work?

I have 113 in my collection, but it’s only saying 72 on the achievement tracker

Also just bought the mount for exalted with Zandalari, but that doesn’t count either

What mounts are they looking for that count towards it?

I think it count mounts usable by that character alone.

Tells you all the info you need its a
very good guide i wish you luck im at 396 mounts atm .

it only counts mounts you can use with a single character

“Usable Mounts”… so, any you have in that list that are profession or Class specific will not count.

Yeah, this. I have got most my mount achievements from logging into my paladin because she has 6 more mounts than my other characters.

As others have explained the achievement is per character and how many mounts they can actually use. I tend to use my paladin as she has the most mounts available to her. The mounts tab in game shows a lot higher number, for some reason it started counting mounts you have unlocked for your faction even if you can’t actually use them.

This is a really handy site to see what an individual character has and is missing

You just put in your realm and character name.

For example this would be me -

The Alliance ones won’t count towards Horde progress, etc…

Its confuseing because the LW mount from legion counts for all but the engineer roflcopter doesnt so some proffs do and some dont.

The link i gave him will hopefully help him .

Indeed… "ROFL"copter, as you call it, does require Engineering to use… as do the Tailoring ‘rugs’.

Wasn’t aware that the LW Eiderhorn Mount was profession free.

I love it when I find others that call it the ROFLcopter

No i’m kidding.

it’s a shame we don’t have paragon mounts in BFA, but we have warfront ones.

I don’t miss paragon mounts myself. I got loads of some and none of others. I much prefer the WF type rare killing farm.

Cool thanks I’ll have a look at it

Did check my Paladin like someone said and noticed I had 2 more mounts there so that isn’t too bad

We have specific paladin mounts we get as we level, we also have four mounts from our class campaign. There is also a paladin specific mount from the Argent Tournament. Depending on your professions you get mounts specific to those too.

That’s mostly true, although for some odd reasons, class mounts from every class you got them o also count toward the achievement for 400 mounts. It’s a good help, but it doesn’t make much sense :

  • 4 paladin mounts
  • 4 rogue mounts
  • 3 warlock mounts
  • 3 hunter mounts
  • 1 DK
  • 1 warrior
  • 1 priest
  • 1 mage
  • 1 shaman
  • 1 monk

that’s 20 mounts.

Then there are also allied races mount counting towards the achievement:

  • Nightborne
  • Void Elf
  • Lightforged Draenei
  • Highmountain Tauren
  • Dark Iron Dwarf
  • Mag’har Orc
And soon to be Kul’Tiran and Zandalari

It’s unclear why, but that’s how it is.

Those are some of the mounts I mean when I say your faction can use but your character can’t.

Ok hehe, this achievement is such a mess, it’s hard to see clearly through it
