How does the next M+ level differ from previous?

Is there a minimum ilevel for each M+ and is there something new in tactics?
I stopped when I had done M+8 for all. How far does it go?

You can enter any keystone level with an itemlevel of zero. The one “setting the iLvl” is the leader of the group, who simply won´t invite people he deems to be too low. But in theory you can try to run a +25 with itemlevel 0… obviously not a good idea, but you can still try if you really want to.

But, and ofc this depends on your personal skill levels, a group of -/+ 619 (full runed upgrades on champion /heroic track gear) “can” time 10s, but many will prefer to run 8s for gilded crests first.

M+ keytones scale up “endlessly”, at least for all intents and purposes… I think the top players are currently clearing 19s and slowly moving into 20s… by the end of the season we´ll probably be somewhere in the +/- 25 range at the very top, I don’t think we´ll see 30s this season…

As far as new tactics goes, at 10s you always have tyrannical and fortified, and teh difficulty takes a measureable jump from 11s to 12s (many have called for nerfs to challengers as well as overall difficulty because of this) , and starting in 12s each death costs 15 seconds instead of 5, making wipes or multiple deaths all thate more costly, one badly timed wipe in a +12 can brick the timer, potentially even on the first pull.

But the general tactics in and of tehmselves remain mostly unchanged in say an 8 vs a 12, bosses and mobs don´t get an extra skill or anything, they just hit harder and have more life.

from gameplay? no
but you have to plan cds much better as fortified and tyrannical are active.
without cds at the right time you will just die, so the difficulty jumps from that but aside that 10s are nothing special.
from 11 to 12 is a bigger jump because you will lose the kiss curse affix and an additional 10% scaling is added on top of the regular scaling from a key level jump.

ilvl doesnt matter, pugs probably wont inv to 10 if you are not 2.6k rio and 620+ ilvl unless your are a tank or healer, then you have a chance to get inv with a little lower score and ilvl

So longer fights with the mobs (and boss?) basically as the M+ gets higher in level

yes and longer fights means more mechanics.
so not only are the mechanics more deadly, there are more per fight because the fight takes longer.
at certain levels you nees to counter every single mechanic with a def cd and you can imagine that if there is only a mechanic once it is easy, if there a 6 mechanics over the fight you will run out of cds and you have to juggle with the group.

in pugs that becomes a problem as you usually not communicate. people either press their defs cds immediately or never which either leads to overlaps or deaths or then later deaths, that makes dungeons generally difficult because lack of communication

thank you for making it clearer, so I can understand why it gets more difficult the higher the M+ gets.
