How does the renown catchup work?

I stop getting renown as a reward from dungeons & callings, is it not possible to get any renown after a certain level from doing dungeons & callings??

I believe the closer to 40 you get, the lower your chances of getting renown drops. The early ones should rain, past 25-30 or so it’s a bit harder to get.

Should still get some though…

As Alewin says, the closer you are the slower the gain. When you are really far behind it rains down Renown on you.

If you are not capped, you will earn Renown in the following ways:

  • By completing the weekly quests Replenish the Reservoir and Return Lost Souls. These quests will grant you one Renown each.
  • By completing the 9 chapters of your Covenant Campaign. Each completed chapter grants you one Renown.
  • Randomly through max level gameplay: dungeons, raids, PvP, and Callings (the new Emissary Quests). If you are far behind the cap, you can expect the chances to earn a Renown through these activities to be higher. This is thanks to catch-up systems in place to allow you to get up to speed.

Correct, closer you get to max renown you drop less renown.
Doing callings, heroics and campaign should give you 20 renown, you can get it in one or two days depending on how much you play of course.
Then you can queue for LFR, run normal CN or do M+, you gain renown fairly quick.

My brother is doing this right now, just got down gloating about how I’ve done 1 weekly HC this week (just now) and got a renown. He’s done 10 HC’s today and got 0.

As alewin said though, I am pretty sure the RNG skews against you the higher renown you climb. I don’t know if thats officially stated anywhere but there’s no way it’s coincidence.

So far i dinged just before reset so i got 2 x LFR done 4 herioc dungeons at max level .filled the bars with the quests you get as you level so that was x 4 renown . Do the campaign atm i am 36 with /played at 18 hours and 45 mins :slight_smile:

Will get 3 tomorrow by doing WB and 2 order hall quests souls 20 and ap 1000 .

You should get some gear too, since dungeons will require more Ilevel.

The best way to farm gold is by selling herbs or boosts.

Mining & farming herbs is my xp strategy to get from 50-60 :]

I think it stops at 34 -36 ish don’t remember the correct number. After that i had to do weekly quest to max out on my alt
