How have you been enjoying The War Within so far?

Thanks for the feedback. I’d gladly be helping you if I could, sadly, my laptop doesn’t have enough available storage to download TWW.
I’ll just say this: don’t overdo it with addons. I only use three and I’m a healer, keep a clean and minimalist UI and just track the few mandatory things you actually need.
Also, don’t try and rush through the learning progress, WoW PvP is the hardest PvP game after StarCraft II. Take your time and accept that you’ll be bad for a while, it’s completely fine.

I totally saw it coming.
How are BGB queue times though?

Okay brace yourself, it’s a long read:-P

The War Within is full of BUGS

The biggest problems by far are all the bugs that have been in the game since the begining and still are there. Every time there’s a weekly update something breaks again.
Awful latency, losing items, renown and honor levels etc.
In the beginning it’s ”okay it’s a new expansion and it will soon get better” but the problem is that all those bugs don’t seem to get the required attention from Blizzard and slowly get very annoying.

The worst bug was probably that many guilds experienced that whole guild vault items disappared overnight so they have lost items worth of millions of gold and never were compensated for it. I know for a fact that some players unsubbed because of this laissez-faire attitude from Blizzard.

Class balance every week, then every 2 weeks causing outcry from players because of overpowered classes being buffed yet again while other classes were ignored. Blizzard don’t seem to know enough about classes in the game to actually balancing them out against each other

Mythic dungeons seem to have reached a low – see other threads for more information.

Delves – new dungeons in TWW a concept that the whole TWW was sold on. Lots of balancing issues in the beginning and many understood those delves as content for soloplayers but they weren’t really. You can solo them or join a group and climb a ladder for increased difficulty. In short: You either love them or hate them but word is they seem to be discontinued in the next expansions.

Crafting – continuation from Dragonflight with a few minor changes, like patron orders. I personally like crafting in TWW even though bugs also found its ways in and were a showstopper for progressing crafting in some professions.

Grind – lots of grind for gear and renown with various factions. The amount of grind for not much gain seems a bit much considered how short time we have until the next expansion and then the hamster wheel starts all over again…

PvP – While adding one new bg Deephaul Ravine Blizzard still excel in ignoring any pvp content. Nothing really new in DHR: Minecarts and crystals to carry/guard to win.

Blitz was turned into a solo rated bg, filled with issues of lost rating or rating not correctly being added and even suspicion of wintrading. I personally loved Blitz before Blizzard changed it into a rated bg, but because of all the negatives I haven’t tried it once, tbh.
From what I can read queues are long maybe because of what I mentioned.

Overall the ”casual” bgs like random bgs and ebgs are infested with premades - even in the event Korraks’ Revenge in AV and Blizzard are looking away causing tensions and frustrations in the community.

Any positives?

The pvp vendors are a great new feature where you can buy crafting recipes (for all professions) for honor for either crafting or reselling on AH and is a great way to customize your own pvp set or to earn some gold. Items that enchance your pvp gear – sockets and vicious bloodstones (that can be turned into various kind of pvp gems) can also be bought from said vendors.

Warbands are a great new feature being able to share items across your chars no matter if they are in a guild or not.

The game design is pretty also with very different designs in each areas of the world map.

The 20 th anniversary event
It’s not exactly part of the TWW expansion but is happening during TWW so I also mention it.
While I personally think Blizzard should have used the opportunity to give out lots of free stuff it’s just another grind to get something from the event.
While quite some parts of the activities seem like low effort from Blizzard’s side the highlights are the BRD raid, Korrak’s Revenge, and the Tier 2 transmog set you can get relatively fast for all classes by grinding bronze tokens and timewarped badges. Quite pretty some of them.
Lots of stuff to get from tokens if you’re into mounts, pets and transmogs. Even a long questline rewarding you with the ”Detective” title when completed, if it tickles you.

The above AND that Blizzard seem way more interested in selling expensive stuff from their cashshop than improving on the player experience in TWW, is the reason why I only give TWW expansion 4/10.

2/10.
Zones are amazingly lame(Basically, I don’t like underground stuff). All rewards are just recolored garbage.
The next content will be an isle expedition map unearthed from BFA, where 1-2 trees have been repackaged to make it look new…
There was a lot of hype because of Metzen, but this expansion doesn’t hit the level of either DF or SL.

Meh 4/10
I don’t like the way the tradeskills are now. I am sooo disapointed in Delves, and generally i feel bored and only play sparsly

5/10. Could be better if we had actual Horde involvement in any way or form.

Storywise, I feel it’s meh. I didn’t pay attention to most of the story because the characters weren’t interesting. Especially the Earthen, I gave zero bleeps about a certain sacrifice. All in all it’s like a cast of Overwatch characters talking to each other but this expansion was mainly planting the seeds for “Midnight” coming next year.

Music-wise, could be better. Very little epic scores that gave me goosebumps. Music in Classic clears retail music by a country mile imo.

Content-wise, I ran delves 8+, morbidly refuse to touch M+ because of the state it’s in, got geared enough to the point that I personally feel accomplished with, play LFR. That’s pretty much it. It’s lacking to me personally. But I have other games to play.

My rating 4/8 not gr8 m8

I’m really enjoying TWW, the zones are amazing and I find Delves excellent fun. Better than SL and DF for me. But really, imho the making of an expack is the .1 and .2 patches. I’ve just finished the t11 Delve achievements and am now wondering what I’ll be doing next season. I can’t see myself spending much more time in Delves unless they add new ones or mix things up in the old ones a fair bit. I need good and chunky new content in a way we didn’t see at all in DF. The DF drip drip drip of small content updates really didn’t do it for me.

What heavy grind? This is the least ive played wow while still playing in a long time and im still up to date on most things I sort of care about…

What wait which story? Strangee shasowlands had even better story

Well, was fun early on but you ran out of things quickly if you don’t do M+.

While the art of the zones is nice and the music, I’m not fan of the underground zones. I prefer them open like in Dragonflight

TWW is still on the first patch so hard to judge but currently I’d give it a 4/10. Dragonflight for me was a 7.5/10 from the start to finish about 8/10.

strengths raiding as always
weaknesses mythic plus

1- Raid- ok-ish with last boss being mythic 3-4 boss difuculty on heroic. - score - 6/10
2- M+ absolute garbage this season. The time loss on death made all groups disolve asap.-1/10
3- Delves… worthless garbage. - 1/10
4- Enviroment- 9/10 beautifull
Average score - 4.25. exactly what i think of this season.
Overall worse even than shadowlands season 1.

My personal score on dragonflight was about 7.5-8/10 . It was much better feeling expansion.

Not enjoying it much.

I think I’m logging in even less than during Warlords, and that was bad.

The zones are bad, and the fitting of music to the zones is just horrible. It feels like they fished out rejected pieces of music from earlier expansions, and dropped them on the zones pretty randomly, with no regard for the aesthetics of the zone, such as they are. I find it hard to believe that this was done by any one who was at all familiar with the game.

Delves are deadly boring.

M+ is too rush-rush for my taste, and while I probably could raid, I would probably need to do M+ as well, to keep up with the Joneses. So I’m usually happy enough to potter around in the World.

But there is nothing in the World this time. Blizzard has cannibalised world gearing to provide an incentive for the soporific Delves, so that’s all gone. And the World is so repulsive I don’t want to spend tine in it anyway.

Much disappointed. Nothing good to say about it.

P.S. Oh yeah, characters and story. I almost forgot, since they’re so washed out.

Just as bad. Can we please get rid of Anduin and young Dagran? Please. I don’t want to deal with either. And Genn has handed off to Tess, for no reason I can see … not that either of them is doing anything now, but I fear what’s coming. :frowning:

I don’t care at all about the spiders/Nerubians. Xal’atath so far is generic evil. She/It might become interesting once we get past that blandness, but I’m not holding my breath.

6/10 so far, better than Dragonflight.

The addition of warband and delves alone makes it better than DF.

But the professions are as bad as DF.

Regarding dungeons/raids/pvp, they are the same level as DF, no meaningful change or improvement.

It is indeed a copy/paste from DF, + delves/warband.

Its like a sexless marriage, familiar, boring but you stick around because youre scared of change.

Better than df. But I’m definitely starting to realize that wow needs some serious system like legion artifact weapons or covenants and that they shouldn’t be very alt friendly or that you can easily change them. Even though I hated them from time to time.
