How hectic is shaman healing?

Im looking for a new class since blood DK is so boring and weak atm.

I thought id give healing a wack, i tend to pick classes that are relatively lower down on the spammy list as my wrists and fingers aint what they used to be…

How hectic/spammy is Resto Shaman in general?

2ndly What Covenant are people picking, im between Necro/Venth for resto

healers in general arent very very spammy.

Shammy is ok

I love the new gameplay with the head legendary with riptides because it changed our gameplay after some years. And it’s not boring.

its a good idea to get into healing with a shaman, because its one of the few remaining “simple” healer specs, in its fundamental design. Thats not to say its braindead faceroll 2 ability spam, but Its a healer, not healer with a twist. You don’t heal by dealing damage like disc, you dont have to melee things like holy paly, you dont have 90% of your heals being HoTs like a druid, youre the classic ol’ healer.
As such, you can focus on starting to grasp basic healer concepts like mana management, cd management, positioning, when to aoe heal and when to spot-heal, etc etc, without having to deal with an extra forced mechanic because of your spec’s design.

With totems, interrupts, cc, pets, damage spells and more resto shaman has more utility, more responsibility to their group and more hot keys than any other healer. If you want a less busy time a night fae Druid is probably the most straight forward experience. Stack hots, keep up dots, press convoke or tranquility when required.

If you do go shaman then Venthyr gives you a long cool down panic button whilst necrolord gives you a shorter cool down that requires a little more care in application to get the most out of it but which synergises with the core riptide mechanic.

But you can “min max” with druid too, with balance affinity you can literally do dmg with rotations and stuff, or you can keep on healing with those 5 core spells.

Same i think is with shammy you can be an effective healer with 5 spells, and you can expand in dps or uttility.

I mean shaman does probably have more but its not absolutely mandatory

You sir definitelly need to run few dugeons with a typical group of idiots as a healer.

I know what you are talking about … but usually you can see whats happening, if its worth saving you blow everything, if its not its let all die, a fast wipe is better then wasting time.

And also thanks god medium high m+ keys mechanics cant be ignored … so players either respect them or die … In lower they know healer can just heal it out (and i do hate it)

My quote of the expansion so far is “Dammit, WTB faster GCD”. And it’s not that I’m falling behind, just that I always feel as if I could be healing more, or more efficiently.

But yeah, the better the rest of the group plays, the less spammy you’ll be; unless of course there’s a ton of unavoidable group/raid damage.

Huh ? “More hot keys than any other healer ?” , try Holy priest, 4 bars are not enough for every spell that you need to alternate.

Not hectic or spammy at all imo. Necrolord is the way to go.
