How is the horde population? How do I find people to play with? Should I try discord?
I’m a returning player that wants to do everything in the game, so RP+PVE. (But I also read that a lot of people don’t like players who don’t RP).
I also wanted to recreate my Blood Elf paladin from Cataclysm, so I’m not sure if I should make it here or on Draenor. When I played on Alliance, it was easier to find people but not all of it was nice.
So like, I’m looking for friendly people to play with, RP and PVE. I dunno what is cross faction and what isn’t? Should I start here or stick to the top populated servers?
Don’t worry all too much about this. No one expects you to be RPing 24/7, there’s just a general expectation that, on an RP server, one is at least interested in the hobby. That’s really it.
Pretty much, yes, it’s good to be interested in RP on an RP server, but if you’d like to do high end PVE, a dedicated PVE server might be better in terms of progress guilds and such.
OR
If you’d like to RP in your spare, non PVE time, you can have a lvl 20 toon on AD and have your main toon on a PVE server. Cosmetics are universal afaik
It’s also that if someone is uninterested in roleplay, Argent Dawn has a lot less to offer than basically any other server to the point that it’s really unproductive to roll on Argent Dawn to level 70.
Horde on AD, for example, has a smaller population than basically every other full / very high population server except for Ravencrest and Silvermoon. For someone who roleplays, there is still much to find. For someone who doesn’t and doesn’t plan to roleplay, it can be a little bleak, as the raiding guild scene is not as bustling as say, Tarren Mill.
That explanation on that behaviour aside, if you’re interested in roleplay, Horde is okay. There’s several discords for finding roleplay, and you’ll find both Horde and Cross-Faction things to do in them, as people tend to stay out of the forums. Another option is argentarchives.org, which has public RP events listed in there with a calendar.
When it comes to raiding, there are raiding communities and guilds out there, some of which advertised in the forums, a lot of which outside of them. How to find them is something I am unexperienced with, so, good luck!
You can do both, honestly! There’s nothing stopping you. It’ll be a little ‘out there’ to find, but basically everyone in Argent Dawn does PVE content to some degree, especially in raiding seasons where the transmogs are amazing.
