How is ret paladin self sustain?

Hey, silly question really. Never played ret, but I just unlocked lightforged dranei (yes after this long, leave me alone.) And going to level one to potentially main it.
These are my questions;
Is ret like arms? (arms being my fav spec for warrior).
Lastly I play a lot on my own. Please don’t feel sorry for me I have no soul, I know what your thinking (why play paladin then, idiot!)
Jokes aside i just want something less dependant on a healer where I can go out and feel more self suffiecent then how i feel on warrior.

P.S i looked into death knights, king of self-sufficiency apperantly. Too much death, skulls and pale skin for my liking.

Ret paladin is probably the best class for solo player, very good in world pvp can solo almost everything , great heals and yes its similar to arms.

Ty for the response. I notice they hit like a truck but are quite slow. What is the downside in pvp to this? Is it there mobility?

No, you will be kited all day… you will get very angry( we are wheelchair class… moving like snail is not fun) … atleast i do. People complaining about our dmg… ye we do hit like a truck, but its so hard to connect. You can crit for 60k… rare but possible. Paladin is very strong in 1v1 situations, in arena is lower tier but still viable. I have good feeling that we are going to receive buff to our mobility, if we do Paladin will become a lot better.

I think Paladin is perfect class solo players its very versatile and perfect for solo situations.

First off - Ret Paladins use a single 2H weapon, so as an ex-arms player myself that should hopefully sell you on the swap!

On a more serious note, Ret is a great upgrade to Arms Warrior. While less mobile, Ret has great burst damage, defensives and utility.

While I say burst, I am not saying sustained damage, sadly. We are very windowed in our damage. But not totally out of it.

Ret has great sustain in the form of in-command healing (instead of kill-requirement attack-based healing that Warriors are lumped with). We have a number of talents that also help with healing including making our heals instant/free, an AoE holy power dump and our very own attack-based heal.

We have the usual Lay on Hands heal and Divine Shield to help you get a quick heal session if you need a few uninterrupted casts.

Get also has a number of utilities that can help them in fights. Ranged semi-nuke abilities in rotation to allow some threat beyond melee range. Ranged slow and a non-talent ranged stun. Basic shields and talented old-arms Die by the Sword too!

Ret has great solo play potential!

Which is best, selfless healer or word of glory? Trying to give good advice to my friend who hasn’t played a lot of retribution paladin.

Any advice about other talents is welcome too.

Selfless healer is better for PVP, WOG is better in Mythics… great wipe preventing spell. It can top the party to almost full.
Need PVP or PVE advice?

Yeah, so I thought i’d update my post. Like if anyone cares but loving ret xD
