How is the SoD LFR going?

Not sure about that.
Ny’alotha had some annoying bosses in its first LFR wing, where wiping countless times was not out of the ordinary.
The bane of LFR is those binary boss mechanics where you either do it correctly or you wipe.
Sanctum of Domination doesn’t have those so far, but it’s definitely not a foregone conclusion that Blizzard makes the initial part of a raid simple and accessible.

Seemed a little undertuned. Half the raid was dead or afk and the bosses still died quite easily.

That’s not nice. Why would you wish ill on fellow gamers?

I did the first wing today. We one-shot every boss.
I still hated the aesthetic, but as for the experience; was quite good.
Hope the rest of the raid will be equally doable.

Tuning is fine. Want wipes and a challenge? Do one of the 3 (!) other difficulties.

wrong. there’s two difficulties in a game. where you can ignore mechanics and where you can’t. LFR is former and is pointless

so if you dont avoid the beam on beholder, you wont die?
so if you dont go in to the free space when everywhere else is black, you wont die?
if you dont run away from him when he marks you and melees you to death, you wont die?

huh there was me thinking you would die from those abilities (whatever their names are) unless you take preventative action.
Huh amazin
incredible really.
shocking, actually.
all those people that died from those mechanics on lfr just now … i must have invented them.
jees, i need to go to an optician and/or a psychiatrist as i clearly am hallucinating.

you’re wrong

just ran it and I haven’t noticed anyone dying in my group, but if there’s mechanics that oneshot you it’s unintended and lizzard will fix them after the outrage in the form of “LFR IS TOO HARD” posts on the forum

One shot the first 2 bosses and D3 on the Nine.

Not too bad.

Balls on Painsmith and the rings on Fatescribe are pretty much insta kills if you fail.

I think that’s too early to say, since those bosses are not yet available on LFR. How they are on other difficulties doesn’t necessitate that they’ll be the same on LFR. So we’ll see.

according to the journal, balls still deal lethal damage and the ring mechanic is still there, although it can only go 1 way preventing people from messing with it.

The anima powers are the same in normal/hc/lfr? then it’s going EZ-PZ

Excellent…fairly smooth against Tarragrue and Eye of the Jailor…then one wipe against The Nine…got some new boots, enjoying the new Raid.

Jog on, Edgelord…no-one is asking you to ‘lower your standards’ to group with us scrubs…we will enjoy the content, farming the mount and knowing it’s really, really grinding your gears.

I actually had fun in lfr last night.

One wipe each boss

But no raging.
No tryhards screaming tactics.
Few people took the time to explain it.
Mix that in with an actually enjoyable raid.

Good fun.

Easy, good.

And that also is what my point implies with getting carried, you ignore mechanics that have minimal bad gameplay impact on you thus getting carried by the Developers.

Your point is weak.

The new LFR has a moderate level of challenge, the trash mobs need some attention - the first boss needs a lot of positional awareness and the final boss keeps LFR raids on their toes once it gets going - I got through without dying and was very active on heals and cleanses and throwing out a bit of damage when possible - lots of fun for a casual player

My days of guild/raid leading Min/Maxing and all the meter sniffing are over so I settle down into a more relaxed style of gameplay - might do mythic dungeons with guildies as I am still very adept in 5 man content
