How is Unholy looking in Shadowlands?

Hey!

I have played warrior now since January and I’ve really enjoyed it.

I am hyped to play Shadowlands and Warrior seem really fun.

I like to pvp and to get glad some day would be really fun.

I am locked to play Arms in pvp which I don’t have anything against. But I can’t really play 2v2 without a healer.
My friend plays sub rogue and I would really like to play 2v2 with him but Arms really needs a healer to be good.

Fury is fun in pve.

I saw a Unholy in an arena game that I just played and I got so excited about dk’s for some reason. It seems so fun to play Unholy and smash people with all your 10000 zombies killing everything.

I really like warriors mobility but to just be able to Death grip someone and then Chaince of ice them and then having all your pets attacking someone seems really fun.

Though, how are Unholy in pvp and pve (raid and m+).

I know how warriors are so I just need to know how Unholy are.

You shouldn’t go for if a class is good or bad, more if you like the class.

But a class being bad can make it boring to play. I ahve played frost but I like fury more so it’s all about Unholy here. No frost.

I really like self healing too and arms has none (if not talent it) but stun is much better. I feel like Unholy is Arms but with self healing and without an mortal strike. Fair trade I think.

So, could someone that are experienced with Unholy tell me how they are and how they are looking in Shadowlands. Maybe also compare it to warrior, fury and arms and tell some pros and cons.

why is it bad in pvp?

squishy and dmg is low comopere to all other melees

++ it takes a long time to start doing dmg (low dmg)

Guys wake up. With the new iteration of Unholy it will NEVER EVER be viable in pvp due to the pet centric class design. Your actual strikes and rotation abilities deal no damage as well as your plague. Unholy needed an entire overhaul to be viable again and primarily needs a drastic damage shift from pets to Death Coil, Fest. Strike, Virulent Plague, Clawing Shadows and Apocalypse. Furthermore fast pace specs like rogue, warrior will always have an edge on DK considering the enormous ramp up time. This must be changed.
It also needs major buffs for defensive/ self sustain. In other words…

  1. buff AMS by a large margin (it now is utter garbage when its consumed by 2 spells from mage, lock etc…). Also either reduce IBF cooldown to 2 min or buff the DR to 40%. And for the love of god finally buff our armor physical reduction!

  2. bring back Death Siphon and remove that nonsense like Death Pact, Sacrificial Pact and buff Death Coil selfheal with Lichborne. I mean it is on a 2 min CD.

  3. remove the new mastery and increase the damage of Death Coil, Festering Strike, Apokalypse by 30%. Give Virulent Plague a mechanic that it buils stacks and every new stack increases damage taken from DC by 3% stacking 5 times. Remove Unholy Assault and merge the 20% haste into Apocalypse.

  4. make Festering Strike always applying 6 wounds instantly to increase pace of the gameplay and stabilize our rune economy. On top buff RC to proc 1.7% - 1.8% per spent RP and please finally buff our 40 talents!! Make Pest. Pustules 20%, make Sudden Doom proc more often baseline (like 4 RPPM) and increase HoD chance to be like 7-8 RPPM total, make Soul Reaper a lvl 50 talent or baseline and replace it with Runic Tattoos.

  5. since you are not able to properly tune Necrtoic Strike leave it at 4% but make it a passive that Clawing Shadows/Scourge Strike apply the absorb. This will safe a keybind four us and give the ability to stack a little absorb on 30 yard range.
