How Many Are Not Re-Subbing?

Well that’s good then after tomorow horde will have little shorter que.

If there won’t be any dungeon lister like was in TBC I’m thinking about canceling sub too.
That typing on lfg channel is like XV century

I won’t be re-subbing (for TBC, anyway. Might pick up SL when it goes -50%). But honestly, it has nothing to do with any of the mild controversies surrounding the game. Classic and TBCC made me realize that despite the fact that I’ve always loved the long leveling grind, there still has to be something waiting at the end to keep me motivated.

With Classic and TBC there really isn’t. Raiding is nice but I just really don’t like the idea of scheduling my weeks with a video game in mind. Just out of principle. That leaves Gruul’s Lair and some other short raids for me, which is fine. PVP I never cared about apart from the occasional casual BGs (but good god am I tired of the old maps after 13 years or so. Especially WSG). Dungeons bore me like nothing else.

What I love to do is just hang out in the world and while Outland is quite possibly my favorite place in any fantasy/sci-fi game ever, I’ve spent hundreds of hours there already (and mind you, I never set a foot there during TBC. I just love Outland so much I kept exploring it during the later expansions) so there is nothing new to see or experience. No real motivation for me to grind that 50+ hours. At least with retail there are always new zones and system to try out. Sometimes they work (10 days /played at level cap in BfA) sometimes not so much (1 day /played at level cap in Legion. No, I didn’t accidentally mix the expansions).

I am still happy I was there during the launch. I’ve never seen so many players in one spot as there was at Dark Portal waiting for the opening. And it was nice seeing Outland full of people for once. Altho that came with a downside too: seeing all those players race through the same quests just somehow highlighted the “theme park MMO” nature of WoW that didn’t feel so obvious earlier.

TLDR; Love Outland but the game just isn’t for me.

Haven’t played this bastardized version of TBC since it released. And seeing people wanting things handed to them (70 boosts, WoW-token, MTX-mount all over the place etc.) so they can raid log; meaning a community closer to retail than I anticipated, I think I won’t re-sub.

Somewhere near 20s of September after summer vacations.

If you pin your happiness solely on hitting cap, you’ll never do it as the goal is simply too far off. every day logging in and painfully slogging through a seemingly never ending grind to reach Outland doesn’t seem a lot of fun. you need to break down your expectations into more manageable goals; say getting so many XP bars/ levels per day, getting a specific area cleared of quests, saving up dungeon quests so it’s just 1 dungeon run needed to get them cleared etc. and the levels will come as the days pass on. get into a guild with alts running low lvl content or maybe join any potentially lower lvl guild and lvl together? that sounds alot more enjoyable.
But gritting your teeth and holding on for dear life whilst Questie drags you through each zone?
man I’d just stop now.

that’s incredibly accurate.

And I did. I’m dropping classic and coming back to pserver. Had some friends there, nobody is rushing anything because why? We know what we did.
Classic doesn’t make me feel like I’m at home.
Mabey I’ll stay for retail tho. I can screw around without worrying that I’ll stay behind.

For me I enjoyed it for what it was, a trip down memory lane now I’m ok to just play other stuff. I’m not a raid logger or someone who wants to wait around Shattrath for a dungeon HC group.

Got two 70s.
Leveled through every zone.
Pretty much depleted all current available Qs, attunements / chains.
Had a bit of world PvP.
Done numerous runs of the dungeon content.
Got all reps to heroic key level.
Got 375 on primary / secondary professions.

Now it’s a mere idle waiting game, the thought of dailies / min-maxing, farming constant BiS every phase isn’t my cup of tea.

I’m essentially character ready for my trip to Northrend rememberance. I dip in and out of WoW and have done on retail every expansion / major patches for ~4-5 years now.

That’s fair. I played across a lot of pservers but never had an established set of friends except on Nost.

I wish you the very best.
