How many Attempts did you have on Mage Tower?

Just wanna show how for me at least, it was difficult to complete most of the mage Tower, I didn’t complete the Mage Tower for the mount, I gave up, perhaps next time, sadly yeah it’s 6-7 months from now

Guardian Druid: 189 Attempts
Agetha:
Outlaw: 82
Fire Mage: 5
Fury Warrior: 1 (After doing it so many times on Outlaw-fire mage, to be fair, the fire mage one, scaled weird I did 1 hit the healers with 1 fire blast, and I used Crusader enchant which healed me so much, I found out about that enchant on my outlaw rough after 70+ attempts)
Ele Shaman: 38 attempts
UN Death Knight: 19 attempts, (Again used the Ravaged Seed from emerald nightmare, Fallen Crusader Enchant from the Death Knight, I used dark transformation and Unholy Blight whenever she summoned all the imps around her, also sometimes waited for the healing imps to arrive so they’d get killed easily.

Twins Marksmanship: 41 attempts, I ignored the ads, I used a gorilla from Strangelethorn which gave me 10% leech, and moved him to orbs, made him attack the bosses when needed.

Destro Warlock: I had to use Ravaged Seed pool from the first boss in Emerald Nightmare, and siphoning enchant, after getting more leech and more AOE for the small worms, also instead of using Shadowcore oil I used Emblamer’s oil (For that extra healing) after changing that the fight felt a lot easier.

Holy Paladin: I had 97 attempts, I didn’t use much specific gear or enchants I followed guides but I never play Holy Paladin or healers in general.

My point to show my attempts, not easy, and I also had to cheese a lot, I farmed SOO Raid from Mists of Pandaria for the Socket bonus, and the socket slots, I enchanted all my gear, I also used Endless Trinkets on my Outlaw rogue one.

Currently I haven’t done Ench Shaman, Havoc Demon Hunter, and I cant do them, Ench shaman, I have bad sight so I just can’t get trhough Dark Wings, Havoc Demon Hunter, after so many attempts, I can’t even get to PH2 I feel like frostbolt just kills me too quickly.

Reason to show this, I am not a PVER or PVPER I am from Argent Dawn, I don’t really RP anymore, I just level most of the time, or I do LFR I am casual, many attempts, how about yours? did you have many attempts too…I also hope perhaps some of my tips or how I killed the ones I did might help you?

There are, including today, 5 days left… so you’re just complaining for the sake of complaining, go on and do the rest!

frost: 3
fire: 2
arcane: 3
ww: 4

i assume i got lucky and played the easiest ones, but i don’t care at all about transmogs or the mount so i won’t even bother trying other specs

I am not complaining o.O I am showing my attempts, this ain’t a “Nerf Mage Tower” thread just wanted to help or show people that also gives up after many times, but I don’t really collect mounts I’ve got all my transmogs I wanted. don’t care too much for the priest one. nor the monk one, DH one would been nice though.

I don’t know the amount of attempts, only the ~hours spend. 14 for hpala, 16 for elemental. I had no specific gear for both. Should have used earlier more consumables. Completely changed both.

About 20, then I realized how stupidly scale it is, then refused to participate in that kind of trash feature and went on doing more productive stuff

By complaining, i’m referring to you giving up where there are still plenty days left.

70 before they changed the mobs behaviour for guardian druid, 40 after and then killed it in 3 tries when they reverted it.

Easily 500+ on Guardian Druid.

First 2 days I was using an int weapon and didn’t notice. Eventually I got the seed pod and used BFA consumables and it took 2 attempts with that combo.

I’ve done 50+ on my Monk but he’s doing horrible damage so I’ve given up until next time. I only wanted Felbear and the Monk set.

Around 5k tries then i got the mount

Oh my bad, well I am too poor to continue, been farming gold the past 2 days.

I have no clue cause dbm didnt count the attempts on the healing challenge (resto shaman) for me. But it was alot, would think somewhere between 150-200 considering the amount of hours and that i wiped in stage 1 (first 5 mins) 99% of the time.

Agatha (ele shammy) i havent killed yet, but best try i had her at 2% and i have less then 30 pulls. Think 28 or 29 so far.

Think it took me around 60 tries to get the Havoc fight done. SL gear scale so badly so if you want to have it easier in the fight you can pretty easy get some gear that helps you.

Old BFA Azerite gear is great. The head, chest and shoulders gives a huge chunk of main stats but no secondary stats but it doesnt matter really. The extra agility and stamina does huge difference in the fight. If you do not have any old gear left a tip is that you can go to Nazjatar and get Benthic gear easy and cheap. BFA neck and Cloak is good to. Sure the old legendary effects are turned off but it has ok stats.

For Weapons in phase 1 when the boss hits so hard i suggest you try and get 2 weapons of low level (max item level 50) and put crusader on them. Yeah i know they got Strenght bonus but it does not matter. The healing is insane and will keep you healthy easier. Since you can not use this on weapons over item level 50 you can either put it on Heirloom weapons if you got any you have not yeat ranked up fully. Rank 3 is item level 50. Otherwise i think a lower level char can put the enchants on and send the weapons to you. Or you can use weapons below item level 140 and put Siphon enchant on them for life steel.

For phase 2 the extra healing is not so needed so in the brief pause change to weapons with dancing steel or any other damage enchant.

If you take 10-15 minutes extra you might get some gear that makes it easier in the mage tower fight. If you want to invest more time then running Siege of ogrimmar for some gear with sockets is nice. Doesnt matter really that the item level is lower. Most stuff down to item level 40+ works great. The stats are almost the same.

The +3 Agility gems doesnt cost a fortune and you can put the unique gems in your gear also. The +7 and the two +6 gems. One is cheap but the other might cost to much. There is also a gem with +4 all stats (nightmare something). For chest enchant i suggest you put the Eternal stats. Gives you +11 inside the mage Tower. I went for main stats and Crit/Haste as much as i could. Think i had 3% versa max when i did the fight. Didnt do much difference to have for example 10% versa and take 120 damage less on a 1,2k frost bolt when you have a health pool of 6,5k to 7k. You would need so high versa to make the stat matter so i didnt think it was worth it. Sure you can take one extra frost bolt hit but you then do to low damage and make the fight much longer and harder.

Many go for the talent Unbound chaos but i used Glaives instead and used my imolation aura and glaives right before the razor ice hit to get a nice chunk of extra healing when stunned. Use your interupts as often as you can and also try to rotate them so you dont use the same after each other. Use cage, stun and interupts. Just make sure to have one up for interupting his power charging spell.

The middle of the cross orb doesnt do any damage so try to get him close to middle by interupting him to make it easier to double jump+Fel rush over it to get the him when he teleports. It can take some training but when he teleports and darkness phase starts and you need to get to him it made it easier for me to be close to middle and have my back towards the orb and double jump+vengeful retreat to get over the orb. After that the tricky can be to turn around fast and use the two Fel rushes to get to him. I tried to save my Blur to use it here to take less damage to. For me it helped to just look at the minimap instead of trying to see where he was since he shows up as a yellow dot on the minimap and navigate myself with it when Fel Rushing.

Maybe some of this can help you make the fight as Havoc.

Have a great day and a Happy New Year!

4 on aff
9 on destro
6 on UH
10 on frost mage because lonely winter

Not really in the mood to learn or re-learn any other specs at the moment so I’ll probably pick it back up in 2024 when legion TW finally comes back around

I’m 7/7 (got the mount 2 weeks in MT). I also completed 8/12 classess in Legion.

I knew the mechanics from then, so it wasn’t really learning anything new for me. It was just playing flawlessly and not making mistakes, since it’s very tightly tuned. Attempting the challenges is roughly the same as attempting it with 895 - 900 ilvl gear back then.

Class I completed on & attempts:

Vengeance DH - 14 attempts (all in P2, died due to dps check)
Havoc DH - Wiped Xylem 15 times, Shadow 40 times (Only dps check)
Guardian druid - 30 attempts (P2 mainly due to not playing bear and not knowing the CDs really well)
Restoration druid - 15 attempts (mainly last phase, P1 is not so bad due to toolkit and arcane guys not one shotting)
Retribution paladin - 20 attempts (mainly due to not knowing the specc, mechanically really easiest)
Elemental shaman - 5 attempts (I was tired and I got killed by boulders, would 1 shot otherwise probably)
Restoration shaman - 40 attempts (Mainly in P1, since it’s really difficult for shaman. Last phase took maybe 5 attempts)
Fire mage - 2 attempts (would 1 shot, died because of boulders on attempt 1)
Frost mage - 15 attempts (The last 5-7 attempts just because I didn’t realize Raest enrages after Karam dies. This wasn’t the case in Legion, so I wasn’t really prepared for it).
WW Monk - 20 attempts (would do inside 5 if I knew monk)
Fury warrior - 16 attempts (15 with no consumables and nothing, then went to buy some old gear, unbridled fury, crusader, 1 shot it with that).

For me, shaman healing one, and Havoc DH were incredibly difficult and overtuned. For sure doable, but too difficult for my thinking.

Mad props for people completing holy priest, shadow priest, aff lock and boomkin ones. I wouldn’t attempt these no matter what

Yes, you did.

I completed WW, Fire, Affli, Guardian Druid, Ret, Enh.
Enh, WW and Fire were easy.
Ret was like medium difficulty.
Affli was very hard.
Guardian Druid insane.

The desparity between difficulties is crazy. I don’t understand how they could’ve released something with such a desparity.

BTW I completed Fire and WW on my lvl 50-52 chars.
For Guardian I had to hyperoptimize gear and use consumables.

  1. I just read the complaints on the forums about it and never even bothered to try

Across all classes and specs: Zero.

I am not uninterested in cosmetics and mount, but that have low priority. I buy from vendors I stumble over, and vary with armour type chars when grinding same dungs for BoE recipes. But no more than that. Completing professions have a higher priority,

cant wait to try it next time after the nerf ;D in February or march??

None back then and none now not even a try out of curiosity, I do not like nor play that kind of content and when I don’t like nothing can make me change mind.

But it is great if people enjoyed having that “content” back, good for retail players I suppose…
