Did you build up a small army of alts in Remix while waiting for retail? I’ve hit exactly thirty 70s across 4 realms, but I’ll mainly focus on four of them, excluding the warband ones.
Busy times ahead!

Only did 1 character in Remix, but I usually level up each of every class to max level and then decide what I will be using for alts.
Nah there is no point for me with the seasonal model. If I queued them all up in a month they would all be outdated and id have to do the same grind as if I didnt have them ready.
I have ready my two meins for the season, this mage and a rogue, and then all the others as of when i want to play them i will get them ready with whatever the ilvl is at the time.
I usually like to play alts at the end of the seaosn when i have done all the content and i can go jump directly to the end game with the alt in quesiton. Especially now with warbands and all being transferable, not having to do as much grinding anymore.
I have 4 Remix alts, 3 at max.
… The other 37 were levelled in Retail
Just my Priest.
In Shadowlands I had a few extra alts to experience the different Covenant campaigns. And in Battle for Azeroth I had a Horde alt to experience that side of the story. And in Legion I had a lot of alts because of all the Class Order Halls.
But The War Within, like Dragonflight, is a singular play experience, so there’s nothing new or different to experience on another class or faction or otherwise.
So just my Priest.
I only ever levelled alts for making gold. So it all depends on the structure of the expansion. I used alts for professions also, but blizz has stopped alts and professions dead in the water. I won’t even start professions on the main character I am using unless I see they have made it feasible again.
5-6 I think
This. I’ve always been eager to get busy with different professions, but DF changed that. I just can’t be bothered with the new, unnecessary system. In my honest, and perhaps unpopular opinion, simplicity is essential. No matter how much a profession needs to be restructured.
9 Priests and a single Rogue.
I’ll level up a few alts at the start because we’ll have so much time until the season starts. Maybe 5 or so to get that 25% warbound XP bonus. ![]()
Couldn’t agree more. Professions has only ever been about convenience for me. It has always been easier to just grab that enchant/craft or whatever from an alt. The truth is that, now it is not that convenient. I have never enjoyed professions. They were only ever a means to an end. All in all this will mean I will want to put the effort into fewer alts.
My main concern though is what happens if they break the market on professions. They (blizz) always try to make professions an essential part of min maxing. If fewer and fewer are going to put effort into professions then what happens with market costs. Will the only way to play the game progressively mean buying tokens to make enough gold to keep up?
I have the standard profession army ready to go, but I did level a load in Remix and Radiant Echoes but I probably won’t bother with those. The proffs are always my prio to get up. It was brutal not starting early enough on them for DF.
Likely 3 or 4. Two for raiding and two for professions.
This time I will see if I can get into it early.
5!
Kinda decided qhat to main, but wanna see how the herotalents feel before I decide.
I focused my time in Pandaria: Remix on a single character, a mage, who I intend to add to my main roster of characters. Historically my main character has been my warlock, though I have been spending more time on my priest, paladin and hunter lately.
Currently, 2. My main (Maxinmus) and my Remix DK.
I wouldn’t say army. I’ve leveled more alts in remix (8 in total) than in BfA, Shadowlands and DF combined though.
I’ll focus on one character. Then, depending on how much I enjoyed the journey and on how well the expansion shapes up, there could be more that I’ll get to 80.
Just one. I don’t have the time and mental bandwidth to play more than one character in end game content.
TWW M+ will be more grindy than it was in DF (certainly more so than S4), which will make focusing even more important for me. Realistically, if I tried to play more than one character, I’d quit within 2-3 months because I burn out or neglect other things that are important to me.
I have around 40 or so alts all at 70. Couple of them remix geared but the others are way above 480. I decided that I’m going to play only one char this time. It just doesn’t worth the time to play the others.
I got 4 lined up, basically filled the Warband. This Druid as my main. Then my old main a prot/holy pally, an UH DK and a Demon Lock.
I will start on and just focus on the Druid.
