Interested in trying out BFA and just curious.
Witt all the tricks in the book it took me 45H to 20=>120 my Enh shaman (+70% xp, potions, high level BOE, mounts, gold and so on) mostly through quests
I think you can expect to reach 120 on a fresh account in maybe 80H ? There are a lot of content from the previous expansions that may be worth doing (did the netherwing questline in BC for instance) so it depends on your goal.
Consider taking mining and herbalism if you don’t plan to level a profession while leveling. You no longer have to farm previous expansions for professions so you can just gather Ores and herbs for the bonus xp (each node you gather is worth 2.5 mobs) and sell the Ore on the AH for some gold.
So you’re saying 1-120 is a lot faster than 1-60 in Classic?
For me it took 5 days. After spamming dungeon runs at level 60 onwards for my new toon, Voidelf Warrior.
10000 times easier…
Just use dungeon finder to level faster.
Oh! Yes, I forgot to mention hirelooms. It’s faster and you don’t need to find gear with them.
I’d say without heirlooms, xp potions, etc 80 hours is a bit optimistic, however it is faster than classic. After all, retail has a good dose of endgame content so there is no reason to slow down leveling in fear that once you’re done you’ll quit the game because there’s nothing to do.
I leveled a rogue earlier via a more “casual” route, so without the XP pots, hardly any dungeons and so mostly via questing without knowing most quests, and needed 3 days and 20 hours (so 94 hours) /played to get to level 120.
Yes it is.
But then again, on retail the end-game is where most content is at, in Classic leveling is 90+% of the game. So you are comparing 2 different aproaches to content.
Yeah, because “leveling is a just a chore” that couldn’t ever be fun if handled right, right?
Question. Why do levels even exist then? Why can’t you just make a character and boom, start off “at the real game” ?
I don’t really understand what this rambling has to do with my statement.
I just said that in retail leveling isn’t longer than it needs to be.
Actually, it is.
In retail it shouldn’t even take 1 second, since it’s irrelevant.
Oh there we go…i was wondering where this comes up…thats the real reason of creating this post…u dont give a damnt about trying retail, its just another bait post from another arogant classic player that wannts to start yet another retail x classic hate post.
1-60 in classic can be done in slightly more than 120h but yeah, BFA is faster as there is much more to do at max level. (Just obtaining flying in BFA will take you what… 25H ?)
In many ways in retail the game start at max level, although i think it would be a shame to just boost your character and call it a day
Just for the sake of gathering information: why so?
For me leveling on retail is 90% of the fun. Endgame is 10%.
a lot faster than 1-60 on classic. So, there’s that.
for me, i take it semi serious and usually ends in about a week or so.
