How many players actually started playing WOW after WOTLK?

5th of march 2005 i remember exactly cause 3 days later we had dire maul patch

I started playing at the end of the Classic with the test accounts that lasted 20 days but until the BC I did not buy the full game. I remember that my first character was a Rogue Troll but he lasted me until level 10 and I changed to an orc shaman that lasted me until the wotlk that created a troll dk that was my main and in Pandaria Grandmaster Khangy arrived. After so much time and seeing so many War Chiefs pass by, I have lost faith in the Horde and in the institutions of mortals in general. Only under the great leadership of N’zoth will we achieve the peace that Azeroth needs so much that I have become his faithful servant and promote the Word of the Lord of the Deep :octopus:

I started in legion, apart from a 1-20 char that once was a requirement for a different avatar for the paladin in hearthstone.

Chuck Norris started a test account and cleared every raid in the game inside 19 days. He then fed 800 orphans with the money he saved

I am exactly the definition of what they call a ‘‘Wrath-Baby’’. I started in 2010, the summer before Cataclysm. There was a significant influx of people coming into WoW at the time as the game was at its peak popularity.

I remember meeting people while leveling(oh, the memories…) at the time who were beginners just like me, in fact having heirlooms wasn’t as common as it is now, which proved in a certain sense that there were many first-time levelers around.

Just wondering did you play other MMOs or something similar at a challenging level before WOW, I know for a new player you have a nice few +15s etc. in time.

Started during wrath. I still think it’s the best expansion made. Northrend was just so beautiful and huge. The music was so good as well. Hunters still had ammunition. You needed to go to some shrines for making some cloth. I loved everything about it.

Haha, I was so anal on min/maxing back then I used to have Titanium rounds on my warrior for pulling as tank with his gun

started in tbc. made a visit in cata. played since mop with breaks (my main is a panda from mop).

i think most players started years ago because most players are old enough to fund the monthly pay themselves

I would had continued to play in the Legion expansion if I was new to this game

BfA is questionable since I mostly enjoy it to chill rather than trying to achieve something like back in the days when I was close to addicted

I started up in TBC as a undead shadow priest called ‘Ultroth’ took me like 8-10 months to get to level 70 aha.
Quit during cataclysm, gave MoP a miss also because of wasn’t feeling pandas because of kung fu panda vibes at the time (yes I know now pandaren more so Chen Stormstout who helped find duotar I believe. Anyway they were a thing way before that film).

My friend got me back into the game during WoD where we played hunters because they were OP as hell in WoD in pvp.
Funny enough MoP and pandarens are my favourite things about this game now. I love the zen feels I get off pandaren, the lore of MoP and the zones.

P.S sorry for my whole life story.

I started during early TBC on private servers as my parents didn’t want to pay for sub. Then Wrath came and I moved on to wotlk private servers where I stayed until late WoD when I finally got bored of wotlk and subscribed. Tried some cata and mop pservers aswell at some point.

I was playing pretty hard core at some point on those wotlk pservers (yes, I know lol) and just been full casual on retail.

I think I started playing just after BfA was released. WoW is always something I wanted to try, but I was too focused on ESO at the time. When PvP in that game stagnated I decided it was time to try WoW out.
There’s actually plenty of newer players, but the starting zones are so bland, spaced out and boring that they don’t stick around. I know it’s a lot of work, but damn they need to fix those areas. Without heirlooms, starting a new character is just plain awful in this game.

I started in Legion and absolutely adored every second of it. I honestly adored the expac to the point where I’ll go to the Broken Isles just to AFK in nice places and hear the music and look at the sights.

Legion was absolutely amazing. My DK is level 90, so I can’t wait to get him to 100 so I can start levelling in there again. Was sad when my DH outgrew it and had to move on.

Not really an MMO, but I before WoW I played Heroes of the storms (got to rank 7 maximum with maining uther/rehgar in hero league) for like 2 years and before that a good period SC2 (platinum league) in heart of the swarm. I totally quitted SC when legacy got out, although I was already for more than half a year in beta of HotS that got my attention.

I was something like 1 month ‘behind’ in legion on the other players. But I got into the FailTrain-discord where I met a lot of new friends where I could build up my experience/skill in dungeons and later also raids. It took a bit more than a year to get Keystone master (+15 in time) in legion and at the end I had some +21
's done.

I played whole legion resto shaman. It was sad I had to take the descision to reroll. But resto shaman sucked so damn hard in season 1… so I boosted a hpala, that looked very cool and playable for me (icy veins abilities and talents checking), and somewhat similar in basic healing spells as the shaman. Since December I am a hpala and was able to get higher in the keys (got to ~1200 rio in season 1).

I am usually not the best player, but I am reading up a lot and try to get better everywhere. I think it is a matter of interest to get to 15’s, there is a lot of stuff in the BFA dungeons that can make your run better or worse. Yes you also need to play pretty well for 15’s, but this is still all with pugs. With coordination I probably can get higher. 15’s are not 25’s

(Got into a KR 15 yesterday, after 2nd boss we had 23 minutes left. Since it is teeming there is an extra blue big giant and another mob. Tank wanted to zerg it and we wiped there 3 times, and then someone left :stuck_out_tongue: It is just a basic affix-fail. wait till giant is gone, cc berserker, kill the others, lure berserker, kill giant :P).
