Get a crafter from trade and ask them how much they’d like. Then decide for yourself whether you deem it worth it. Alternatively ask within your guild.

Do NOT and I repeat do NOT use public orders if you care about ilvl. Get a crafter from trade and do a personal order and set rank 4 minimum. Public order is begging to get a low ilvl craft while wasting your gold and mats.

thank you for this as i was going to do a public order! I will do that instead

Yeah, the public order system is just flat out horrible. If one could at least put minimum ranks in there you could like fish for a rank 5 if you don’t care that much while getting at least a rank 4 but alas minimum ranks are only possible to be selected for personal orders.

I think Guild orders can select ranks as well, not sure. You can check whether someone in your guild can craft the item though by selecting the profession tab in the guild window (top right), view the skill for everyone of the profession, select the recipe and clicking in the bottom right to display the crafters that know the recipe.

Here’s the deal.

For the majority of crafters who are just normal players, it’s nothing out of their day to craft you this weapon, anyone fully specialised into blades can make it at maximum rank 636 by using concentration.

Concentration is like a currency that you have a limited amount of, it goes back up over time naturally when you use it, and using it will ensure maximum quality. Dedicated crafters who are advertising do not want to use concentration, because they are crafting many weapons and trying to make a profit, so they will charge you a lot for it, or prefer to craft without concentration.

But average players aren’t crafting stuff every day, they will craft for you for a small tip, like 1-2k gold. There is no point in getting it crafted anything lower than rank 5. If you join a guild you can do a guild order and anyone on any server can craft for you, as long as they are in the guild.

Most crafters in big servers will charge between 5-10k, but some others might do it for “free” (like any tip you want).

Considering you provide the materials (at rank 3), I think you should be fine with 2-5k as a tip.

But IF you want it on the character you are on (with that low ilvl), then I do not think it will be needed to get a crafter now. Unless you get the crests from higher content, you won’t be able to craft it higher than 600ilvl, so a public order will do until you get the materials from high end content.

its actually on my DK who is 609 ilvl - i need to change it on here… will that still be the same? i cant remember what my DH is i havent been on her for a while

Oh then it will be fine.

IMO you can use a public order for the mean time, because you want the rank 5 craft when you get the gilded crests to get the bis item.

Until then I wouldn’t worry too much for a weapon if it is 615 or 619.

thank you for your help, how much commission would you offer for that as im really unsure

Public order: whatever you want. People might even make it for 1 silver, since they might want the skill up/proc.

Crafter: Some crafters offer the option for them to craft you an item and also upgrade it later for free. So you can give them 5-10k and they will craft it for you now, but also upgrade it later when u get your bis crests.

I think it depends on the crafter (if they charge a certain amount), but generally most often I hear prices between 5-10k tips.

Typically if they don’t ask for a tip I’d give 500-1000g. Plenty of people are more than happy to do it for ‘free’ since it’d be a skill up to their profession, the last stretch being expensive.

Just make sure they got enough skill to actually max it out to R5 the equipment. You might want to provide a reagent to decrease the craft’s skill difficulty if you’re adding embellishments.

the crafter asked for 11k tip when i crafted my 636

it isnt hard to max a profession, so mostly nobody crafts for skillpoints.

to make a max lvl weapon you need a lot of knowledge points and 99% who craft it are maxed out anyways.

500g is a joke of a tip. selling trash to a vendor gives more gold.

typically if i fancy to craft for someone, i charge 5k.
but since 5k feels also like nothing i usually dont even look actively to craft for someone

I always give 5k to any crafter,at the end of expansions my crafters often just refund a few thousand gold due to items being less relevant and me being a customer that keeps comming back to them.

Why Q4 minimum? Sounds like an approach from DF. Agree upon a quality with the crafter and set that as minimum. OP wants highest ilvl possible, so they should demand Q5. There is no inspiration anymore.

This. There is virtually zero difference between a 615 and 619 weapon. But the later costs 5k - 15k and the first can cost a lot less with a public order. Unless 619 is litterally the best you can do this season (only delving or very casually playing) and want it maxxed, it is best to just do it public and later max it to 636 with a recraft.

A good tip I can give you is this : if you message a spamming crafter from the trade channel and ask for a price, you can expect 5k minimum , usually around 10k. BUT, if you instead write in the Trade channel “LF crafter 619 ilvl”, several people will whisper you and you can pick the cheapest option … And some of them will indeed be non-crafters and ask for 1-2k tip, because they also likely get a skill-up from the craft.

Best option would be a guild craft, but mine is pretty lean on people with maxed professions so it depends on the guild.

Always tip 5k-10k for gear at max item lvl. Everything below 5k is an insult.

Why? Because I trust people as far as I can throw them. Especially in this game.

…that’s an argument for demanding Q5 if it’s Q5 you expect.
