How often can I bump a post, if at all?

Hi!

So I have no idea about the policy on bumping posts, I couldn’t find any info on it here. Am I allowed to bump a post at all? Is it dependent on what type of post it is?

To be specific I am selling heavy junkboxes and I made a post on the kazzak forum. Is it kosher to up the post or do I make a new one after awhile? I will keep selling and so I want to make a post that is being able to be seen but I obviously don’t want to be spamming or necroing.

On the new forum you can’t be the first to post a reply in a thread you made, you need someone else to post in it first.

I think just using the word bump also invokes the rage of The Forum Guardians, so you need to fill in an update or ad something to it, if you want to bring a post up

If the post haven’t had any replies in 30 days it will be locked, so necroing isn’t possible anymore

Well they bump all the time on “looking for player” section. I guess to be sure, you can just write a short line every time.

But you have to do it on different chars, as you cannot post twice on the same char, the forum demands someone else answers

I guess this is to prevent bumping, which hopefully answers the OPs question xD

Activulture-Buzzard killed the necrobump. RiP & bump.

Actually, I just found this.

Do not bump posts

The act of posting simply to bump a thread is considered spamming. This also includes bumping very old threads for no reason (called ‘necro bumping’ or ‘necroing’).

Thank god that’s a rule.

Pull up to my bumper baby
In your long black limousine
Pull up to my bumper baby
And drive it in between

How do I quote someone? :stuck_out_tongue:

Steamedhams in your quote it says “for no reason”. I have a reason. But since other persons say I can’t even bump a thread it doesn’t really matter.

Just highlight the text you want to quote and a little menu will pop up

It says “This also includes”, so it’s not exclusive to that last sentence. The main part that should concern you is…

Alright. So I guess the answer is to make a new thread every now and again?

yes, if the old one is locked.

I do however think I have seen someone bending the bumping rules when they changed the headliner, but I am unsure if I am mixing something up

It must be something you can test out

There is a very long and very annoying history amongst the forum trolls to take a post that is several years old and just write ‘bump’ in it.

Pulling a thread that is long gong and buried just to see the forum going mental over a problem that might have been solved years ago - that would be a no-reasons bumping

Theehee necro bumping…sounds so kinky

I think I know where the term “bumping uglies” comes from now
