How old is your character?

DC is 26 years old, just becoming a squire to his uncle months before his home of Southshore would be destroyed by the Forsaken. With all the skirmishes the Horde and the Alliance had between Southshore and Tarren Mill ( which is considered csnon I think!) it would be fitting for DC to join the 7th Legion.

10 000+ and counting!

Mari is roughly in her 320’s.

We kind of do a bit. We know, from Sylvanas’ short story ‘Edge of Night’ that Quel’dorei and Sin’dorei alike, consider someone an adult by at least 20. She is reminiscing about being 20 and also a Farstrider, so unless Quel’thalas uses child soldiers…

Kaldorei and Shal’dorei attitudes towards age may have changed now that they are mortal and have the same Lifespan as all other Elves. This is defined as ‘Several thousand years’ in the latest canon source. You use ‘Several’ in the English language to mean more than two, but less than ten, Lorash Sunbeam is 7,000 or so years old, yet he is still a skilled killer and doesn’t seem impaired by age. Alleria is -at least- 3,000 years old, likewise, she is not impeded by age either. Anasterian ruled for 3,000 years, and looked old, but we have no idea how old he was when he became King.

Elven ageing is weird…

Basically, elves are hogging all the resources and pensions and need to stop being so old.

I must say I did not read that story or I have forgotten that detail. Older lore put that age at around 100 but Blizz may have changed that. Hopefully on purpose rather than by mistake.

Also small edit.

To my knowledge Lorash will be more of 6000 elf since exile of Highborn happened 6400 years before Dark Portal. Malfurion talks about how Lorash’es face wasn’t among the exiled to which he responds talking about hardships his family suffered in Eastern Kingdoms and likely Tirisfall.

On purpose.
100 was only ever sourced in the third party developed RPG, which also contained such hilariously bad lore as- Daelin Proudmoore’s illegitimate half elf paladin guerilla fighter daughter from Dalaran.

I think Velen beat us all at that… being what… 25 thousand years old + ?

the RPG has not been canon for over a decay now I think?

Indeed, yet people still draw from it for RP even where it blatantly breaks tone and setting consistency

I think it is more a case of that they like what is written.

That’s good for them, and some useful things can be salvaged from it. However it’s also full of terrible, if not harmful information. The population numbers are ridiculously low, the age rate of elves is off and weird; let alone the bad original characters and mis-characterised portrayals of cultures in the setting.

On the thread topic however, Liandera is 19 and has recently left Northshire, where she’s been studying as a cleric for good portions of her young life.

Soo she’s heading for Goldshire?
:star_struck:

Hmm and oh she’s as old as Anduin.

Intentionally Anduin aged! Very much influenced by Anduin and WC3 Jaina. A peace-loving character as a foil for more warlike ones amongst my friends and RP group. [Naturally I also play on the more warmongering side too].

[Insert Anduin gender joke here]

But cool.

Honestly don’t know, with Troll ageing and lifespan up in the air I just say “adult” in the trp thingie and brush it off IC.

My Dwarf is, likewise, “old.”

I don’t risk specific numbers because blizzard is a fickle mistress.

Old enough to drink wine and attend Academy I would say
Around 100-120

I just put in “adult” for this Gnome but seeing how they seem to mature slower (Jaina’s apprentice being a teenager in her early twenties) she’s probably in her fourties

19 years old.
As child she and her parents has been told by Velen that she has to became a monk and try to control her inner fel magic corruption with meditation, physical activity and training, controlling magic mess inside of her, trying to make an use of the strong light element and chaotic Fel, work them out together as a yin and yang and combine them into the spirit Chi energy. He said the faster she will fight with it, the better so her parents send her to the pandaren temple at the age of 12. After few years of hard training Pandaren masters told her she has to find her own way to build peace of mind, due to her inner magic imbalance they told her that it will be much harder and complicated thing to do for her in comparison to average monk and that they cannot help her anymore with it. She decided to go into adventure at the age of 19 knowing very little about Azeroth.

Ly’s age is a tricky one. I consider her in her mid to late thirties, with 252, but she has several children, one of which has a child as well.
Her backstory is having kids young and those kids being grownups now, but not crazy young, like 15 in human years or something.

I went for 40 in real years which I imagine being just out of teenagee years and barely into adulthood.

Quel’dorei and their offshoots age at a normal human rate, which persists socially as we see in lore with cases such as Sylvanas who served in the Farstriders at the age of 20. Common misconception though!

Tyram Deolaras is 47 and not getting any younger. Husband, father and Marshal!
