Serious question because I keep getting the same 2-3 slots and have yet to get a single azerite piece from a mythic+ chest across four 120 toons…
Got 2 pieces from a world boss on 2 characters in a row.
Now i haven’t gotten a single piece after 12 tries
Mythic+ does not give azerite armour any more as far as im aware.
I thought in 8.1 the weekly chest now always gives currency instead that you save up to buy the azerite gear with.
I would say it’s probably as “random” as the adds you see on your facebook page.
Never underestimate the greed of a big private company. Where is room to manipulate customer behavior all you need is will to see it through. Random as we used to know doesn’t really exist anymore. This is controlled randomness.
Btw there is still room on the conspiracy train so feel free to hop on.
A lot of things wrt drops are not random.

Well if you have 2 x 370 azerong gear pieces and 1 x 340 azerong gear piece and the WQ emissary is offering a 355 azerong piece go and do it and i BET most of you will now get an upgrade for the 340 piece since 8.1 patch. Go try it.
It’s only as random as Blizz want it to be.

I honestly believe the system is programmed to trigger people.
My druid has 5x 385 helms and 370 for its other azerite pieces.
My priest at a stage had the worlds biggest weapon collection that I couldnt trade (oh you have a dagger, well you can’t trade the mace then!) when my friends lacked weapons and I lacked a load of other stuff.

It’s pretty random, you just don’t understand what random means. Random doesn’t mean getting different thing each time. Random sequence contains random repeats. Randomness has no pattern but lots of small local patterns.
Also, as of patch 8.1 you no longer get azerite pieces from mythic+ chests, now you get a currency you can use to buy azerite piece token or a specific piece you want.

It does indeed seem to get obsessed with certain slots. Personally I get spammed by useless Azerite pieces, and have been since launch. Worst part is, I can’t stand Azerite. I don’t consider Azerite loot. It’s nothing but unwanted junk to me. Nothing interesting about it. It has stamina and intellect on it, a bunch of useless traits, and it can’t even upgrade. And I have way too many Azerite pieces.
Oh yeah. At the start of the expansion I also got a lot of weapons. That stopped though, but I obviously didn’t need any more after it stopped anyways. Just wish the Azerite spam would stop too.

I would say you have “Good Luck” right up until you hit the average item level and then for some “odd” reason it becomes very difficult to after

Same here, 90% of the loot I got is either waist, legs or rings, while I got feet dropped only twice since the start of Uldir. It’s the same for my friends and guildies too, they are almost locked into 2-3 gear slots and barely get new drops for other slots.
I have the raid pieces but they are trash 
Loot is not random its used to time gate you and give the impression of reward when in fact most of the time you get nothing for the time you spend repeating content. The biggest issue i have you rarely notice any difference when you get new loot because of scaling with out running a Damage meter you wont notice any change.
Loot in WOW just provide you with a gear score to get in groups
