By complete chance I got to know that the nyckelharpa fiddler Cajsa Ekstav who played the most popular part of “Totems of the Grizzlemaw” (Grizzly Hills music) works in the buildning next to mine here at the university in Uppsala, Sweden. I’m not a journalist nor content-creator and do not strive to be, but I wanted to document this part of WoW:s history since I’m a big fan of the music and I figured that if I don’t do it, nobody would ever ask her about her experience with Blizzard.
I asked her for an interview and she said yes! So I asked her about Blizz, Why did they contact a swedish fiddler and why has the music such a fast moving melody even though that might make players annoyed if you have to spend hours and hours in the same zone? I tried to make the video as YT-worthy as possible.
A short bow and a nordic fiddler made the music of World of Warcraft’s Grizzly Hills awesome!
