Seriously, i have no idea since DF how professions and especially those stupid crafting orders work.
I was tryharding to avoid anything crafting related, but now i decided i would like to have better mining pickaxe, but its locked behind those stupid crafting orders.
Can someone explain to me, how am I suppose to get best quality rare pickaxe with finesse?
Can i use public orders? Because there are absolutely ZERO EMPTY NOTHING. Are public orders dead and everybody just using personal orders? I DONT KNOW.

People are scummy in both sides (crafters not using concentration for important crafts and clients not providing gold/items) so I recommend that you avoid public order feature until it gets fixed, do personal orders only.
As for “how to do X” look for guides on YouTube.

I just wanted to buy one stupid item, but i cant. Instead I will have to watch stupid guides, try to avoid scammers and how the hell I use the personal order? I dont know who can craft it. I DONT WANT TO KNOW anybody, i just want to buy one stupid item, like in AH.
Seriously i hope they will get rid of this crafting order disaster asap.
This is just such a downgrade compared to what professions used to be 
Just because of this I gave up on any crafting and I just focused only on gathering profs since DF.

It’s created by blacksmiths. You’re going to struggle to get someone else to make you one because “artisan’s acuity” is limited and it costs 300 which is a quantity I doubt crafters will be willing to part with unless its for a truly ridiculous amount of gold.
He is the one that will be providing the acquity, the other crafters cannot (and even if they could, prob would not) provide it.
All that op needs to do, is to whisper someone that spams trade chat, he will tell him the price, and then send a personal order with the correct materials and missive.
Most of the crafters will be kind enough to guide him through it if he takes their services.

You can level up the needed profession on an alt and place a work order for yourself.
Otherwise, yes, put in a public order. At worst you won’t get a max rank item, but for a gathering profession it doesn’t matter much.
If you provide the mats, someone will craft it for you.
LOL you made me remember in early DF when I didn’t know anything about professions and I wanted to craft something, some people were asking me to send them a personal order instead of making it public and I didn’t understand why, so I asked them about it and they laughed or straight up blocked me without giving an answer.
The reason was they only could craft 4 items per day which fortunately that doesn’t happen anymore, not sure why it was so difficult for them to explain that but the point is that you can’t count on people to be nice.
Also to the OP, believe it or not but in an MMO you have to interact with people, whether you like it not. It’s not a big deal just ask in /2 (trade chat) for any profession and you’ll get a couple whispers.
And if talking to strangers it’s such a drama for you then level up your own 
there’s nothing else you can do.
Then why there is no interaction needed in open world, questing, pvp, dungeons, etc…
If they want people to interact, they should start with those and let professions be, they were completely ok before this stupid profession rework. 
Good to know, but i doubt it i will have time and will to level up BS all the way to the point i will be able to craft it with maximum quality
I guess that is really the way, but im not looking forward to it. There are only bots and spammers selling progress for gold. Havent seen anyone advertise a profession in ages.
JEEEZ really, this is so stupid, I will have to take a vacation to get one stupid rare profession tool. Could have been 3 click in AH, but no, Blizz just has to make it insanely overcomplicated and stupid

Uhm, not sure why people say they need to whisper and get in contact with anyone to do a crafting order.
If you have the mats you can simply put up a public order that anyone can fulfill. That’s what I did with my fishing rod. Collected the mats, put up the public order + gold tip and had the fishing rod in my mail within like 15mins or so.
I tried to get an item crafted by public order and got whispers from crafters that they will craft it for me for 10-30k gold.

Sure, if you don’t care about the quality of the crafted item.
Also, no need to put in a tip for a public engineering order. People will do it for free for first craft bonus/skill up/resourcefulness gains.

Make sure to press the Search button. Unlike Personal and Patron crafting orders, the Public ones do not load up automatically.
All public crafting orders I have sent in TWW so far have been with all mats provided by myself, and only 1 silver as commission (can’t go lower). Not a single one was not fulfilled within 30mins. There are lots of players who are glad to earn up a free skill point.

The point is that hes going to have a 570 ilvl at most blue mining pickaxe ~ while someone at this point who will use concentration will get the best 590 ilvl .
This week i’m unlocking the last perk on my Dk Blacksmith Zeline-Darksorrow-Genjuros , I can make you a 590 ilvl if you send a personal .
