How to actually push keys

A lot of people have asked me: “How do you play brewmaster monk?” - the answer is that it is not like any of the other tank spec. But people seem to play it like other tanks, hence failing at the core mechanics of the role. Let us get this straight; there is not only mechanics to the dungeons that you play - but also the class that you play. And class mechanics is fundamental, if you dont know your class; do not play M+.
Once you learn how to play your class, then the time comes where you should learn to play the dungeons, this is done by doing M0 - because this is where you are - that is where you belong, no reason to watch some streamer and think that you can do the same thing, because you cant. So:

  1. Learn your class by any source. Then apply this knowledge to training dummies.
  2. When you learn your class, learn to play any dungeon that you are going to apply for in the future. This is done by Heroic → M0.
  3. Once you actually have learned a dungeon - instead of farming rio, which will come to no use for you anyways - gear up through that dungeon, lfr, delves and weekly. Then push your own key. Do not join someone else’s key - push your own.
  4. Enchant your items for more stats.
  5. If you have [Let me solo him] from season 1, you do not need to follow any of these steps but may jump into M+ instantly.

By any source?
So running dungeons blindly and learning as we go, it is!

No they haven’t. If you must post inane threads like this every other day can you at least label them in the title so people don’t have the misfortune of stumbling into them by accident.

By all means, you have no evidence for this claim. And there have been people like you - before you, who said that people have not asked me. But today there was 2 people who asked me - and there have been a lot of people before them whom have asked me aswell.

Using utilities (aka support) that can save a run lowers your score. Anyone with a brain will know this, but most do not and will not care.

Why take 1.5 healers that makes the run super smooth, when you can take 3 dps with tunnel vision that will stand in bad and blame both the tank and healer for doing so.

Parses aren’t everything. It’s same with SGE in FFXIV who does 50% dps and 99% healing. That means you more or less did a perfect run, because downtime exists.

LOL, these games are FAR different from each other. First of all, “utility saving a run”… why does a run need saving in the first place? I’ll tell you why, because people are playing poorly. If you have players who are doing their jobs correctly, there is nothing to as you “save”

For this nonsense about taking 1.5 healers to make the run smooth versus 3 tunnel-vision DPS, that is a false dichotomy. You do not choose between smooth runs and good damage you get both by picking players who actually know how to play. The way to judge that is by looking at their parses, not their rio. A high parse means someone is efficient. A lower parse means that they are not.

And your FFXIV analogy? Completely irrelevant. We’re not talking about a different game with a different combat system. We’re talking about M+, where every second matters, and the difference between timing a key and depleting it often comes down to who is actually pulling their weight. At the end of the day, people who say parses aren’t everything are the same ones who consistently underperform and expect others to carry their mistakes. I don’t operate like that. You either bring value to the group, or you don’t belong in it. Simple. This is how it should be. There is a reason why some are engineers, others are not… while some people call themselves engineers although they are just a programmer, not the same. An actual engineer is someone who studied for 5 years. Not 1 year.
For instance, a Service Engineer is not an engineer, more like an technician within the field that they work with. There is a reason why some people within the police are investigators - other work with simple traffic duties. In season 1, some of us have [Let me solo him] - and some players do not.

However, in all of these fields, there are people who come along, and works within these positions - although they have no clue what they are doing and are not doing their job correctly. In the same way - in M+, we see people playing keys higher than their experience, knowledge etc.

A high parse can mean that they got boosted directly. And as for PUGing, it sounds like it’s something you’ve never done. GB was super buggy for example and prot pala being the way it is didn’t help much either.

As for your engineering example, an engineer does not follow a manual or a set of instructions they were thought by some useful idiot who only knows how to memorize things and nothing else. We call those certified idiots instead.

Let me guess, terminally online as well? You act high and mighty but is too lazy to check others acheivements which speaks for itself.

Maybe instead of assuming everyone above you got boosted, you should ask yourself why you aren’t up there with them. But something tells me self reflection is not, and will never be your strong suit. For instance, do you have [Let me solo him] from season 1?

Talk about main character energy. Guess that comes with being a rank 4 S2 Brewmaster monk on a highly populated realm.

And how are they suppose to reach higher keys if nobody invites them to lower keys ? :key:

Really? the answer is in the first paragraph, at the ending of that statement.

Ok. So whats his “greatness” is blabbing about this time?

In before “You may say this…” reply…

Alot of people dont log keys though.

I wonder why you would require people to do the thing which is not related to keys altogether? Do we need like to write an exam for you to get invited in the key about all ins and outs of the game? I would not be surprised if you would ask people to come to your key with “Cutting Edge” of last/current season at the very least, and orange 100% logs.
But I would understand why you don’t want to take people who did not prove themselves knowing what they are doing in your key, I would rather see logs not from raid though but from the keys, since the builds for raid and keys different

You clearly overestimate the average random players mental capabilities mate. The first step of doing pug keys is having a steady supply of IDGAF pills. All other priorities rescinded.

Hard to take them seriously with that guild name. :melon: :melon:

most people just dont care

most people are tired after whole day of work - want to log in and have fun .

problem of retail is that atm its not offering that fun anymore

ironicaly - cata classic and SoD offer exactly that - easy content and fun very rewarding gameplay .

retail lost its mmorpg soul - it got sacrified on altar of catering to mythic tryhard crybabies who want to be special in game because they are not so special irl

and for streamers - because its free publicty for blizz.

Now let us translate what is being said here:
Retail wow is too hard, so I play classic instead.

Anyways, I have played SoD, and it was my first time experiencing classic. And it is great, it really is - I see what their idea with it is. Obviously the reason why I tested SoD was because it is faster by buff to level up. And it was a great experience - going over all these zones that you dont visit today… so much left behind, great effort back then, it was - in terms of merging the world and so on Blizzard really did a successfull job in creating an RPG atmosphere, they really did. You cant attempt that today, because the community is split.

So I was watching Linkara yesterday and he had a review on The Hobbit - and fair enough it was good statements that was made. And why do I mention this? Because it is related to the current theme in a certain way in terms of music in Isle of Dorn. Now - eventually, Mist of Pandaria will come out - and I will play that. I feel like that is where the classic adventure begins for me in terms of RPG. Although 20th Anniversary will eventually release another TbC expansion in time - I will try that aswell. However, it does not fall to my taste.

Pushing keys is easy.

for a lot of people ? yes thats exactly the case

there is a reason why we seen unprecedented drop in m+ participation in S1.

and yes - maybe im getting older - im ok with it

reward vs effort ratio must feel good. and in retail atm it just doesnt .
