Okay, since i’m not a really a hardcore player, i don’t know what’s the difference beetwen 1H and 2H DMG output. Atleast not in a very technical way.
But if i need to say how this should work is :
1H DK hit’s faster with lower DMG
2H DK hits slower but a harder DMG
Maybe it’s kinda obvious but i think 1h frost DK should be a better dps in PVE, and 2H Frost should be a slow BUT real hard hitting, wich would probably make it better in PvP. Toughts?
all abilies are already been re-scaled to fit 1h/2Hdmg+attack power on their dmg scaling. so whatever u wear wont make a big diference
atm only 2 diferences remain, razorice (probably will be removed alltogher like the old 20% bonus runeforge as we are recieving new runeforges it seems) and KM mechanic
The damage of abilities are pretty much the same. However, 2H only has one runeforge which will make it unbalanced. Also some issues with RA and KM due to the low AA speed.
This was kind of the case in Cataclysm and MoP, but 1h still had its niches in PvP, and 2h in PvE. It depends on how you look at it:
During MoP, damage wise, 2h frost was almost exactly like an arms warrior. It had good baseline damage, but terrible scaling. Making it really good at low item levels, for PvE. While being really good in PvP in general.
During cata, the old talent trees fixates a lot on dual wield for damage. So going 2h allows for more talent options to be contributed to utility, making it more desirable in PvP. For example, I would have Lichborne as a 2h frost DK but I won’t have Lichborne in a dual wield build.
Personally, I think the MoP 2h frost dk is what blizzard needs to aim for. PvP frost Dks should play 2h. While PvE players play 2h at low item levels.
Will do as before. If the runes are superimposed on 1h, then their effectiveness drops to 50%. That is the whole solution. So that everything will be balanced.
