It’s easy to beat gearscore.

Switch to your normal gear once the run starts.
Most times the leaders’ are too lazy to even check what you have equipped as GS slaves see you as a number not a person, and as long as you’re a ‘high number’ they’re happy.
That’s not true at all, people tailor their builds to the content they are doing, the people they are playing with. You don’t need improved battle shout if you play with a Paladin that can bring improved might.
As Warrior tank you can play and be decent with a 37/2/32 hybrid, or a 37/8/24 hybrid or you can go a variety of different ways to full prot 51 or more points. Fury has a bunch of different builds where you may take heroic fury, anger management, unbridled wrath, improved demo, booming voice, improved cleave, improved execute, enrage. Arms can even run axe dual wield (kebab) spec based around Execute procs and do good damage.
All of these are viable situational options. Enhance shamans can play either spell or physical builds with either dual FT or WF/FT and do really competitive either way, even tho dual FT is the more popular atm.
I am not saying its perfect or anything … it was just random thought I had in middle of BG …
Well you could feed these differences into the addon.
You have 71 talents, lets say you are shaman (I could try explaining it on other class if it doesnt work with this one for you)
Each talent is worth 1 point, if you earn 71 points, you get 30% of your total score … random numbers, lets say 30% is talents, 30% is gear and rest is glyphs, enchants, caps etc …
Your “Enhancing totems” talent, would count as 1, but if you have another shaman who has that, you could put it into “Improved WF totem” talent and that would still count as 1 point …
But if you put it into +armor talent or +dodge talents or “frost shock freezes players” that talent would suddenly be worth only 0,5 point or less … because it would be better to have 2 shamans with improved totems, than wasting it on completely useless talent .
You would simply tell the addon: “These talents are worth 1 point, these are worth 0,5 and these 0”
There are some hybrid builds or differences, but if you want top dps there is simply only one build …
Also it would be part of the score … meaning if you have “wrong” talents, low gear and undercapped … you are simply useless no matter how you sugarcoat it …
I mean cmon … 99,99999% of playerbase is just copy pasting icyveins or wowhead or similar garbage … the math has already been done, you can have fun playing fury with onehanded weapon and shield instead of titans grip, you can even do solid dps with it, but that doesnt mean you are going the best dps possible with your class …
And no matter how you put it, if shadow priest takes 3 talents to get silence instead of shadow weaving … its simply garbage build for PvE dps …
And again … as I said it would be toxic … the point is not having full raid of 100% people … the point is click on person and see 70% = “has done at least something correctly” … if you see someone with 30% score, they either need some pretty damn good explanation for their hybrid build … or they are trash …
A clown fiesta clears it in two hours. Naxx is easy, can’t deny that. But this be why Zabra enjoy wotlk. It’s fun and chill. Too busy sweating and minmaxing irl.
U make a forum post and expect us all to praise you? or not comment? Gearscore will always be here if we removed it u would be inspected and ppl would arbitrarily affix a “gearscore” to you in their mind. U cant say Gearscore is the sole reason u cant raid cuz if your gear is bad even if I inspected u and saw it I wouldnt invite you
Well, a clown fiesta Zabra be in this past weekend cleared it in two hours. Maybe the clown fiestas on Thekal are better than the ones on Mirage Raceway.
