How to Block Users

I blocked a few troll users before because I just couldn’t be arsed to see their messages anymore. The new forum seems to have unblocked them and I can’t seem to find a way to block them, just report them. (I am mostly talking about the human supremacist in the lore forums, don’t really mind their little RP thing as long as I don’t have to see it while I browse the forums).

I seemed to find a direct way when I browsed the post (but forgot where it is now)…

But but but, I have found another way, and that is under ‘Preferences’ where your avatar is… Theres a place where you can ‘mute’ others

Preferences -> Notifications

Found it, thanks! That’s such an awkward way to do it hah

EDIT: Still seems to show their messages in forum threads, and not hide them.

You can’t, can’t on the Overwatch forums either, so you’ll have to mute and ignore their posts.

:confused: seems like a lot of work to ignore one you get fed up with

Just have to deal with it. ¯_(ツ)_/¯also you cant literally ignore their posts, only thing you van do is not read them.

You are correct, maybe with the new forum we don’t have the need for ignore anymore

(I just discovered, a post have to be at least 20 character)

Fragile snowflakes BTFO’d eternally.

In all seriousness the lore forum should be taken with a grain of salt
There’s people there who unironically believe BFA’s biggest crime is zandalari paladins

Yea, it kinda good to be fair, makes people unable to leave 1 word replies. :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s not that, is just that “human supremacists” tend to spam a lot of the discussions in Lore, even when they have nothing to do with humans. It’s just annoying having to filter through them. Same with “morally grey” Sylvanas fans.

I now use a CSS-based solution.
Depending on how or if your browser does support it, this likely works differently.
In case of firefox (cause I use it), the following code will “hide” the persons posts (but not hide if someone replies):
@-moz-document domain(blizzard.com) {
article[data-user-id=“xxx”] { display:none !important; }
}
where xxx is the persons user id, it does show up by rightclicking and inspecting the person you want to ignore and scrolling a bit upward within the code.
Quite unconvenient, but better than reading comments you wish to not see at all. :confused:

TFW when they even prune the forum functionality.
They probably could fix it, but it’d cost us a trust tier…

Luckily I read down this thread, that’s exactly it. There are also numerous other privacy and safety options you can do, as well as notifications of threads and posts.

Those are just notifications though, it does not actually hide those people’s comments in the forum.

ignore them with your mind
