How to break the "go go go" mentality of WoW?

100% agree. Mythic’s introduction in to this game was when the dungeon fun experience just went downhill. It created a horrible, selfish, rush rush metality that destoyed the entire concept of completing content as a group, putting your heads together to problem solve and co-operate as a team.
It just turned in to a game of keep up with tanky.
It was a good idea and a progression from challenge dungeons, but it was just implemented poorly, without consideration to what the knock on effect would be

Happy that someone went pass the M+ example, the original post wasnt refering solely on M+ issue, which I am a part of , got my KSM both seasons etc. Its the whole game, the new events, I remember when DF started, everyone was no lifing Wrathion rep for the cloak, that area was packed, everyone was consuming consuming consuming , two weeks later, dead content.
Whats the solution to this? Time gating ? No, thats also bad. I think repurposing areas, is a good start. Meta achivements (time gating but somehow satisfying) . Im sure that we are not lacking suggestions for such things, its sad to see dead content everywhere, especially in DF with so many word events.
I wouldnt mind to have an event that sends me to Stratoholm vanilla then Wotlk, then some obscure part of some map that nobody went before…is a waste of posibilities.

Go unlock old Naxx, if you haven’t done that already, it’s pretty much what you described.

they need to repurpose the old world zones,
send us to Tanaris to farm a new rep, or send us to elywn forrest etc

there needs to be really hard quests, not just kill X amount of Boars gain reward type of quests.
we need quests that require some really hard to obtain items or tasks

the game is dumbed down so any 3 year old can complete, and that makes rewards redundant.

Reps could be harder to grind too, ( i have The insane title, loremaster, battlemaster… etc ) the insane title was the one i found to be grindy, but you dont see any rep grinds like that any more

Lots of answers already xD i came to say that i find it kinda weird that op is crying that ppl try to time a timed content. I mean, you don’t like it, don’t do it. Why break it for everyone else?

Because you cant let people have nice things if you cannot do them.

Having a bad experience with specific content in World of Warcraft is by design.

Mythic Plus Invitational, Raid to World First, and PvP Tournaments: these three, World of Warcraft is designed around.

Having some type of rapport with the players in Mythic +, Raids, and Arenas is a must, those types of relationships are fostered before and not during.

Only people that play regularly together, compete in those three tournaments I’ve listed.

This is why you have to have a bad experience if you’re not playing regularly with “friends”.

Want to do a Mythic +10, having the appropriate item level and having done the previous dungeon (Mythic +9) is all that should be required to solo queue for a +10.

The reason why we have keys, you guessed it, is Toxicity.

Like I said, by design.

From what I understood, I think nobody has a problem with M+ soloqueue per se and nobody would care if it was implemented tomorrow. I would be happy for all those that say it would improve their experience.

What we, who live by the key, mostly PUG key in my case, say is about being careful what you wish for. Unfortunately there is very very bad precedent with PvP solo shuffle.

We feel there is significant risk of all the people, solo-queued for +7s and +9s and +11s to not be able to find any tank and healer or waiting 45 minutes for one. You guys will not like that.

You have to understand that tank and healer role has high value and those tanks and healers will think twice before joining absolutely random queue, when they could for example pick me, or even better people than I can ever hope to be, for their +9, +11, +7.

And if Blizzard would choose to act on this by nerfing the M+ down? Lower keys would get obliterated while it would not impact high end, not a single bit. The big guns would be even more seclusive than they are now.

They can nerf the numbers as much as they want. They can’t nerf people’s expectations and dungeon spreadsheet metrics.

Plenty of people have a problem with it, me included.

M+ is not designed for queues, the Affixes alone require at least basic comp building. If soloqueue would be implemented the complaints of people failing their runs would increase, followed by more complaining, followed by nerfing the mode into the ground. It will just be a repeat of the Cata HCs.

I understand your position, what I meant is that as long as there is solo queue, I strongly believe that players like me and you won’t be impacted because we seem to prefer manual group making and putting more effort into the setup of each of our runs.

I personally agree in matter that I can’t imagine how it would work like, but since any such decision is not impacting me in the slightest, I don’t have solid pushback to this idea. And I don’t want to peril other players of the game.

The existence of soloqueue won’t impact us directly at first, but sooner or later Blizzard will nerf M+ across the board due to the failing keys in the soloqueue. I can list a million reasons why soloqueue would fail and why it’s not in the interest of the people who want it, but if there is a guarantee that Blizzard won’t touch the current state of M+ and it’s difficulty I wouldn’t have a problem with it’s implementation, I wouldn’t use it but I would laugh at the salt posts on the forums that will come of it.

It will impact you. Because pressure will be put on Blizzard to tune to the lowest common denominator and that experience will filter across to the people that manually form groups. It will end up diluting the experience.

People seem to forget that we did the same things before m+ as soon as we could.
I started WoW in MoP and I clearly remember that we went crazy in dungeons as soon as we had proper raid gear. Also went 1 tank, 4 DPS for the sake of even more speed and had one DPS sign up and healer for faster queue.
Ofc we communicated that and everyone was fine because we just waltzed through it.

you wont be impacted if for example system matchade you wwith 2 other rogues and like warrior tank and priest heal ?

if you even would start a group because no sane tank or healer would ever que for random m+

I would personally never use such automated system because manual group making works better for me and my ingame friends and colleagues.

The point here for me personally is that I go to M+ for efficient gearing and to tick off achievements. I don’t do it just because.

I don’t think the difficulty is problem for me personally, on both ends. But I understand others might feel different and I am happy with that.
