How to choose a server

Hello everyone!

Ever since I started, I’ve been playing in spanish servers. Lately they are kinda dead so I thought about moving to the english-european community, since I barely have any problems communicating and I’ve always played in english anyways.

The problem is that the amount of english realms is huge in comparison, so I have no idea where to go or if it makes any difference at all.

I plan to find a guild to do medium-high PVE content in the Alliance.
I would like it to be a high-population realm, but not to the point it becomes annoying with queues and so.

I’ve also heard there are many other languages communities within the english realms, maybe that would be interesting to know. I speak english, spanish and german, but I don’t really plan to get into a small circle just because of the language.

haven’t played in some time myself so cannot really help you out here.

i wish you good luck though in finding a new home…

it is not a easy feat these days.

Silvermoon is a good server. Dont make a char on bloodhoof where i am it is dead also.

Silvermoon sounds good, but is it too high in population?

The game warns you when choosing it and it makes me kinda unsure about it :sweat_smile: wouldn’t like a realm with constant queues or other problems like lag.

Is there a big difference with other high-alliance population realms?

Can suffer on expac launch when people come back and sometimes on big patches with queue’s but it is a good realm :slight_smile:

Lag i also feel on my dead real. So it is everywhere.

Stay away from crowded servers. For example Silvermoon (akaToxicmoon), TwistingNether (aka TwistingToxic), Kazzak (aka Toxicak).

It really is not though, every server has a few bad apples but for the most part SM is a good realm.

Easy. Look around the server list at your game time. If it is full, then it is good for you, if it is high, maybe good but offtime likely dead, and any lower is dead.

And this was not what I experienced. It is a known fact that the toxicity level in Silvermoon is higher than a paint fabrics chemical waste. I am recommeding you use there full air-proof chemical mask with 15 kg air tube, otherwise it makes you 4 months break from game.

I’ve not had any issues with other players on Silvermoon myself, toxic players are going to be a thing on any server though.

Magtheridon is now slightly majority Horde :frowning: after Blizzard spilled the overflow from Draenor onto us. It’s dying slowly.

Silvermoon is top, but can have lag and queues at the start of an expansion.

So for Alliance, Ravencrest fits the requirements best.

I used to pick after how cool the server name sounded.
Given that was like 16 years ago and the quality of servers and numbers of players have changed some since.

Alliance is really not that good for endgame content now that we still do not have cross-faction gameplay. Silvermoon is probably your best bet.

Thanks to everyone, I think I’ll end up going to Silvermoon and try :slight_smile:

I know Alliance is not the best right now, but at least there is some community here; Wow-Spain-Alliance is completely dead.

Hopefully crossfaction will solve some of our problems, cause im def not ever going to play Horde :sweat_smile:

I’m on Draenor for Horde and Silvermoon for Alliance and I will take the slight issues on launch over a dead realm any day. But it’s good to know in advance what you are signing yourself up for.

As for finding busy realms, you can get a rough idea of realm population using various sites

They all measure in their own way and can only be used as a guideline. Only Blizz have the exact figures and they aren’t released.

Once you’ve decided on a realms to consider I would look at guild ads on those realms to find something that suits you. You can even raid cross realm on any of them in advance before investing in moving. As long as it’s below Mythic. Unless it’s late in the season and cross realm Mythic has been unlocked.
