people probably will write a huge essay on your question, like keep concussive shot up, like disengage only after warrior leaps, like use soul shape or turtle/roar of sacrifice when they burst
vs rogue when they use kidney shot is when they usually are ready to burst its when you have to react
it requires too much effort and experience id say its impossible
You can never kite them for long. It is always a battle of you opening the gap and them closing the gap.
Here comes the long essay delta said!
If a rogue opens you and has shadow blades on, you should pretty much trinket and turtle. If he doesnt have shadow blades, you can survive. After surviving the opener or turtling it, apply hunter’s mark and keep him in combat. He will most likely use cloak of shadows + vanish and try to reopen. At this point you can place traps(placing freezing trap behind you is a good counter to shadowstep), flare, feign death(to remove dots) and camo. If you can use a camo you pretty much made it alive. If he doesnt CoS+vanish and try to go for you, you can stun him with the pet, slow him, place freezing trap behind you in case he uses shadow step, disengage, then try to kite him, not all of these at once but a combination of those according to the situation. Damage him untill he can catch up with you. Its easier said than done, but you can be decent with enough experience.
Against warriors, lets say he starts with charge, you can stun him, if he sits the stun you can create distance which will force a leap/charge. If he uses trinket, you can trap him. If he uses bladestorm before you can CC him, use disengage. I usually use trinket when they stun me. They can stun you pretty much anytime. Try to keep tar trap and concussive shot on him.
Its pretty much you dont use 2 CDs together, you trade your CDs with their CDs 1 by 1.
As BM, you don’t get much tools to kite. BM is just bad at PvP overall. Your entire kit is neutered by simply CCing the pets, leaving you with zero dmg abilities only.
You have no burst, and no CC either, outside of one little stun and two slows.
My most legendary feat was trying out arena skirmish and my teammate never showing up… I was ALONE against a mage and a warrior. I was like "oh, bugger, I’m going to die nastily… but somehow I won… I’m still not sure how and I chalk it up to them being even worse than me (and I’m BAD at pvp. I panick as soon as a melee starts clobbering me), but I planted Frost Trap at the corner of the platform I was on and shot Binding Arrow at the warrior as he approached. He trinketed out of the Bind, only to step into Frost Trap a few steps later. Meanwhile I popped all CDs, and went ham on the mage. His mistake was not using Alter Time and instead turning to polymorph which I interrupted, and thus locked him out of using blink to hide behind a platform. He managed to Ice Block in the very last moment (as even Cauterize HP was burned through with Rapid Fire), at which time warrior broke out of the trap and jumped on me - I disengaged down from the platform and ran away and shot a final Arcane Shot just as mage was going out of Ice Block. He blinked for some reason but since arrow was already flying an they are more like heat seeking missiles, it still hit him in the face. 1 down. Warrior tried to charge me only to end up bounced away with Hi-Explosive Trap at my feet, after which he got a concussive shot to keep him buggered. My CDs were long gone so I could only whittle him down bit by bit through his Ignore Pain. In the end I outran him till my frost trap and binding shot came off CD and I was able to keep distance and finally kill him. Only because he insisted on charging straight at me instead of Line of Sighting me until I came close to him.
It was the best feeling I’ve had in wow for years. But had I been a BM, I wouldn’t even be able to take down the mage, let alone the warrior too…
I have another question:
why does every guide advice to take Dauntless Duelist with another finesse conduit instead of Familliar Predicaments with bloodletting??
familliar Predicaments sounds really good on paper
Lol what?..
Rogue is tricky one, it’s a very opportunistic class, you’ll rarley be in a fair fight against one, if you can catch one out in a pre placed trap you instantly have the upper hand basically.
Warriors are pretty simple to kite most the time very predictable too. They condemn spam then when in a range between 80-35% HP they struggle to keep up.
Basics are keep slows up, get Frost traps off and tar traps to create distance.
You have things like masters call and aspect of the cheetah combo and disengage, explosive trap for the knockback.
Just trading CC and cooldowns compared to their doing while always trying creating distance.
It’s practice, in bgs I find myself chasing people because they run off because I’m always so far away from them.
Animal companion is a good talent for pvp too, confuse the enemy From CC the pet.
thanks, and what is your take on this?
