How to counter Rogue+Mage in 2's

Hello, is there a chance to counter rogue+mage in 2’s as an affliction and shadowpriest? It seems we lost 80% of the time, basically we stand a chance only if they make some major mistake. Thx in advance.

Low mmr - 1.9-2k

Probably not, warlock should die in opener pretty much every time

Ry hard, instant silence mage, trinket when ur priest is saped and coil rogue -silence mage fast, priest need to try loss sheep or s word pain first cast, rogue cos restealths keep stay in combat and try nuke mage. Rogue opens if ur both in combat-priest disarm rogue- silence mage full burat rogue.

If they get reset or u dont intrerupt opener with all u have, nomchance.

Even if u do all of the above, u still have 30-70% chance to win vs that broken comp

I suppose that match up will be over with the affli sp team having done a total of sub 10k dmg

Idk why rogue-mage have to be meta every expansion I am sick of not able to do anything vs rogue mage you can mostly only watch the game. Because of slows + roots + ccs + restealths + defensives, it’s pretty sure that you will not able to do any dmg and people playing rogue-mage feeling themselves as pro players regardless of the how hard it to lose with rogue-mage. You have to suck very hard to lose with that comp like sitting 6 sec in a stun without a trinket-or defensive and you would probably still be alive because of mage.

what Wisdome said but tbh affli kinda needs a healer for 2s

rogue mage have no counter play its up to them to lose or win the game its not up to you. kind sad this how the game is cuz blizz developers 100% only play rogue mage and they need to be gods for them to pass 1.1 cr…

Why do you say this when you are 2.5? Have you never outplayed an RM comp on your way to glad or did you always win cause they made a mistake? Also, how do R1 RMs lose against War/HPalas , Disc/Hunters and a few more other comps. (Im not saying its not strong but your explanation is a bit childish especially when your class is one of the strongest ones atm aswell). Usually I hear these comments in forums from hardstuck 1.4s not glads.

no childish just pure true i win this match most of the time but only cuz most rogue mage dont play it right if do they do i have 0% chance but not many know how to abuse the toolkit they have even at 2.8 mmr

I really hate facing rogue mage, it always feels like the non rogue/mage team is just along for the ride. Like the game is 100% dictated by if the rogue/mage has synergy or not

If they play badly they lose 100%, if they play well together, it’s unwinnable for the other team

Easy win. Stack, SP trinket, fear rogue, silence mage. Get dots up. Wreak havoc. Heal the lock.

Oh wait both became animals and ran away and reset the game. And now they sap SP again and open lock again…

This time lock trinkets! Well placed fear and dotting them up. SP gets into the game and prepares void shift / heal…

Wait, SP got blinded. But lock still holds pressure.

Wait, rogue ran away while mage rooted everyone and reset with his 15k absorb… they open again, SP sapped, lock no trinket, lock dies.

Nope, you wont win.

Warlock is going to die in the opener every time presuming fire mage doesn’t get any genuine nerfs.

Combust is one hell of a drug.

Depends a lot on what the rogue/mage queue’s into. Against some comps it’s more on the opponent to lose the game if they overreact or overcommit so they leave opportunities for the rogue/mage to win.

Haven’t played much of it in 2’s this season but usually hpala teams were more on them to lose than the rogue/mage to win.

I think overbuffed mage food is to blame there, this is what makes this comp out of balance

In SL it takes 0 skills for rogue to disengage and go to drink, while mage can easy survive that gap

Rogues healing as hybrids these days, never ending resets and come back with full hp

Not true but I you can argue that hybrids heal like healers atm.

But they do heal a lot, who cares cast a spell or use bandages, food or whatever, resulting same, a lot of healing.

Well i just know that in SL rogue disengages fight very easy, specialy if rogue is kyrian and drink those pots to remove bleed, or NE for extra shadowmeld… Even with best efford to keep bleed on rogue, it not looks like he have much trouble disengage, best method so far is to hit his partner with mass roots when rogue vanish, and if lucky you gonna catch him.
