How to escape as balance?

Hi, any tips to escape in BGs?

One of the reasons I like playing druid is because you have (had) ways of escaping when the situation gets bad, you’re positioned wrong etc.

But now it seems almost impossible if you have someone after you who know how to play. For example I had a hunter chase me across the entire WSG map while I was in travel form.

I play balance, and usually go like this: Barskin + Thorns when melee charges in. Typhon so they land into a ursol vortex to keep them grounded, soulshape (blink) out the other way and then travel form or dash. Still I find my self in the (not so lovely) company of a warrior, paladin or DH. So what more to do? Maybe mass entanglement, but this is usually too late. Forgot to add I usually throw in Renewal in there too.

it seems people say balance druid is good only cuyz of convoke 1 hit kill. The rest seems to suck, mainly the damage, but im low level yet.

It can be tough playing as balance at the moment; you’re normally a good target to go for because nobody wants Convokes going off in their face. One thing I found playing Balance, both in arenas and BGs, is that you spend a lot of your time in Bear Form.

As for kiting, there’s a bunch of ways. Having Wild Charge will help, though this means no Renewal, but travel form/charge is a good way to get away.

Don’t use all your abilities in one go to get distance, this is something I did a lot. For example, Typhoon them into Entangling Roots, or Typhoon, then dash the other way to get distance. Don’t be afraid to spam Entangling Roots as well, you have 2 schools of magic at your disposal, so getting kicked on roots still allows you to play and gets a kick out of the way. Same with Cyclone - if you’re being trained get a clone cast off, that will relieve pressure so you can get distance (you can also talent into the PvP talent for reduced damage from Clone targets).

Vortex is a big one for getting people off you and kiting, and Mighty Bash is good for stopping damage and allowing for follow up CC.

There’s a bunch of tools Druid have to survive, just gotta learn when to press each of your buttons

Thanks! A very good answer. I think gearing up also would help, since I would not have the time to get a manual cast entangling off for example without being stunned and killed in 1.5 sec. Wild charge may be better too as you say. Better to get a way and avoid damage completely.

When it comes to melee, every single second they can’t reach you is damage, and therefore pressure, lost. Just try to make them burn their mobility without using all of yours and keep your distance. If they’re any good, they’ll switch off you if they’re being kited well. If they’re not, your team mate can deal with them while you’re a bear :stuck_out_tongue:

Welcome to warlocks day to day since… ever!!

Remember when lock were top tier in pvp? i remember . it was always

2x sprints + vortex + travel form+ jump+ bash/mass Roots+ aoe cc+ if ally shadowmeld+ stealth.

In WG it’s easy to run away even against DH ! Just jump into water, nobody beat druid in aqua form.
Also you should have made a NE druid, shadowmeld help a lot.

Wsg its not wg

Balance can still kite like a mad god. Make sure to play Wild Charge and abuse Travel Form + Wild Charge aswell as even Water in your surrounding area to make use of your great kiting.

With Typhoon and Cyclone baseline there should be hardly anybody being able to catch up to you. Supplement it instead of Mighty Bash with Mass Entanglement, can play Resto or Guardian Affinity here, if you go Guardian, make sure to pick up the PvP talent to enhance heals in Bear, if not, take Mass Entanglement root 300% damage.

Works especially well with a Full Moon build where your dots dont break it or your New Moon casts.

Also, make sure to abuse your other Wild Charge charges. Bear Form Root and Slow from Cat Form can all be super strong.

Flapping during a Moonkin Wild Charge is also insanely good.
