How to farm gold?

It was Ancelyn (pls tell me if ‘naming’ is not allowed in this case - keep in mind it’s not negative, but rather positive as he encouraged me to do the same. In that case, I will edit my post and delete the name).

Why I’m mentioning this, is because this really is very effective. I didn’t believe at first, but when I tried, it really does make alot of gold without any effort (I just bought Glory of the ZM raider and Sylvanas mount with it :slight_smile: ). The idea is to have as many chars as you can (I have 12 - every class at max lvl) with mission table on it. You don’t have to do much, as the basic followers will be unlocked with renown anyways (buy the token for renown 60). You will have the souls etc etc. just start doing missions until the gold ones start popping up. At the end of the day, you will have 2-4 (let’s say 3 on average) per 1 sending, and 1 mission is usually from 260 - 380 gold. This means that 1 routine will net you from 750 - 1000 gold, and you can do this twice per day since they usually take 4-8 hours to complete. Now let’s take my 12 alts, so this is 12*1000 = 12k gold from doing nothing in a bad scenario, or even up to 20k per day in a good scenario daily. This translates into anything up to 84k to 140k gold per week, and that translates to 336k - 560k gold per month from doing almost nothing.

What I also did, sometimes the callings are aligned or just super easy. This means that you have all 3 of them available in 1 zone for example, or you have 2 and really easy WQs are up. If you do all 3 callings, this takes maybe 10-12 minutes, and each calling box contains 2.5k - 3k worth of junk. This translates into 7.5k - 9k per character if all 3 are aligned, and if I multiply that by 12 since I do this on all my toons, you get 90k - 108k gold on just that day.

I’m not doing this due to other activities, but in roughly 2 months, I managed to get 2 million gold by doing this, so about a million each month for just passive playing pretty much. You can do even more if you got alot of toons exalted = paragon boxes that contain 3.5k - 4k gold, and if you get lucky, that’s not bad aswell :wink: I managed to get the 246 ilvl sword from ZM Mawsworn elites that sold for about 250k aswell, again pure passive play.

So yeah, that’s it.

Prices of commodities are super low at this point. I guess mission table is way to go?

best way wil be probaly to pull 20/30 sharhides in korthia aoe them dead and skin them.
1 desolate leather is about 3 gold when you vendor it.
but its very boring to do, its more fun to go collect the mogs/pets youre self

There is ALOT of gold if you have many alts.

And it’s easy gold if you just have one or 2/3 chars.
Arpox 5K gold if you do 3 callings. And I don’t know how many you can do per week but it’s more than 3.

Not undercuting. The revendreft ore when from 20g to like 8g in less then a week becouse people undercut. There is literally no need anymore for undercuting with the new AH its last in first out. So if you post somrthing you sre likely to sell first then the ones before you.

Good information.

I’ll add a few things. I got interested in the efficiency of it after a discussion with Alewín Looking to make gold - #14 by Gráinne-earthen-ring so I looked into it a bit.

I found that checking back 3 times a day was better than 2, which surprised me because I didn’t realise missions refilled that quickly, but 4 didn’t seem to add any more. I didn’t keep up checking 3 times because it’s just not worth it to me, but it did seem to get me an extra couple/three of missions when I tried it.

I don’t send anything but Gold missions anymore. I could do mats missions and rune missions, and no doubt make a bit more, but both mats and rune prices have cratered, and it takes me on average ~2min to log in, check an alt, send, log out again.

Covenant Mission Helper addon is great, even though out of date now, but I found TL;DR addon counterproductive in the long run.[*] It is not careful enough in its matching of missions and placing of troops, leaving followers pretty much permanently atlow health and unready for the important missions. It is great for turning in the missions quickly, and might be ideal for someone who just wants to keep their followers churning to level them, but I stopped using TL;DR for sending.

If you have a new alt, there is a trick you can use to get it up to full speed instantly.

  1. Make it Night Fae (because NF is the only Covenant worth doing Missions on)
  2. Swap around between ALL Covenants and use your Renown 60 boost on each. Each Covenant gives you a Wisps of Memory. With this, a new alt will have a total of 6 Wisps of Memory.
  3. IMPORTANT: IMMEDIATELY after you get your first Soulbind, Niya, go to your Table and boost follower Niya to 60. This will happen with the 6 Wisps, or 5 Wisps + 2 of the 10K boosts and one of the 3K boosts if you have them.
  4. If you boost your FIRST follower, Niya, to 60, before accepting any other followers, all your troops will instantly become 60 as well, and they don’t de-level! And Night Fae Troops are effective. 4 Trappers, or maybe 3 and a Grovetender, will tank any Mission with just one Follower added.
  5. Now you can recruit more followers, but you will be able to destroy any mission easily.

I make it that Callings give an average of ~1.8K of junk. Sometimes more, sometimes less, but 2.5-3K is just not in my experience. Maybe it’s possible to get 2.5K sometimes, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen it. However, on average, you will get one Bonus Paragon box worth ~3.5K for every 7 Callings, so rolling that in, you could say that each Calling is worth ~2.3K.

[*] After I wrote this, I checked in on TLDR and found it has had significant updates since May, which look like they might have the effect of addressing some of my earlier gripes. I haven’t tried the latest, so consier my comments in that context.

I’m making gold casual way
i have 13x 60lvl character
Every time there is 3x calling i do that on all of them
So that is like 70-80k maybe more if character have 10k paragon rep
But i setup this during first long patch of this expansion so i do not advice to anyone do this now :smiley:
it’s just boring i used to enjoy raw gold farm but blizzard nerfed that in BFA completely to the ground so here i’m casualy farming golds

Mature mission tables will make 1-2000g per day with minimal player input. If you have the alts, it stacks up hard over a few months.

I personally do callings daily religiously on 12 alts, they give an average of 1,9k gold, plus whatever you get in case you have a gold quest or something else to sell + command table missions are also good, especially with the best covenants, and over time I ended up levelling 8 more alts, and in order to avoid burnout, I only do callings on those when there are overlaps, say if there’s 2 consecutive callings in the same zone you can pick 2 birds with 1 stone, extremely efficient, overall I made 2,5 mil a month with that, I sometimes also do some AH trick but this is no-risk at all.
