i know its a weird question to ask but hear me out, im a new player and i always had a interest in a mmorpg especially in wow but never tried it. recently i watched a vid/docu about wow social aspect and i saw many people who found a best friend on wow and tbh kinda want to find a best friend too to play everyday with since im lonely
if anyone could help it would be awesome

Good ways to find friends are doing group content and adding people you have had good experiences with, joining guilds and being active within their group content and social aspects such as their discords, joining communities and again being active in their group content and social aspects such as discord.
You can also find class discords and possibly realm discords, I know argent dawn has an active realm discord but as that is an RP realm that may be an exception.
Also as Tifa says there is a post pinned at the top of this forum for finding friends.
I play this game to avoid friends. WoW is solo Single Player game for years now.

i met my love on wow 
For me the best of friends are the ones who go on a crazy adventure together.
Like I remember back in Cata 2 Druids (who were a couple) approached me outside of Goldshire and told me they want to show me a secret area. I followed them up the Stormwind mountains into a secret camp right above Northshire. We stayed there for a while then moved started running together all the way to Booty bay. We died a few times along the way, especially in Stranglethorn but it was fun. After all it’s not the destination, it’s the Journey
I am still friends with one of them, but after they broke up it was awkward hanging out with the two of them at the same time. Eventually the guy left wow and I remained friends with the girl.
Honestly though this story would go in a completely different direction with this start lol.

Very very hard nowadays because the game has barely anything to do with an mmo anymore. You’re a couple years too late. You made tons of friends naturally back in the days and now it’s barely even possible.

It was not a RP server, thankfully.
Although they did RP as that couple who are madly in-love and will grow old together. Kinda funny how they broke up later on and can’t stand each other.
I would start in the Communities Recruitment forum and look for people who’re looking for social members and who use Discord or similar.
If they’ve got out-of-game communications, that’s a good sign they’re actually interested in people as people, rather than people as a resource to get dungeon groups.
Whether you bond with any of the folks you end up talking to is… both up to chance, and up to you. It takes time to feel like you’ve made friends, you just have to start the process and see what develops

How to find your best friend on WoW:
Step 1: Make a friend in WoW.
Step 2: Upset all your other friends, so they don’t want to be your friends anymore.
Step 3: Your WoW friend is now your only (and thus best) friend.

Met my wife and some of my best friends through World of Warcraft.
It’s a question of striking it “lucky” and finding some players that you click with right away and just stay in touch, either through a friend request, community or, if you are as lucky as I was, being in a guild together.

I’d recommend op is finding a casual social guild to get you started there are alot of good people out there willing to play and engage with others.

edit: but on a serious note. join a community or social guild. If you want to make friends you got to be social yourself as well
