So huge problem for anyone who has played in that 1400-1800ish bracket in solo shuffle, is that’s it’s pretty hard to push through it atm because of the mismatches between healers resulting in 0:6 games between them, meaning everyone else goes 3:3.
Surely a way to fix it would be to make the two best DPS gain rating, even if a bit, so they can move out of that. Their 3:3 doesn’t reflect them as players, it’s entirely because one healer threw all the games they played in.
Winning a game against someone should give you a score, which is the MMR of the player you won against. At the end of the game, the two of the 3:3 players with the highest score win and gain a bit of rating + MMR, whilst the two who didn’t lose a bit.
In this scenario, wins/losses on a 3:3 ratio shouldn’t be of enormous magnitude, but it provides a way for DPS to push, when two are clearly higher rated than the others, but one healer throws every game. This ensures the ability of the DPS are separated from the variable of the healer’s performance.
I have a solution for you. Pay attention to your healer. If he is in cc, pop a defensive or kite. Or even stop some polys or cyclones. Eat some traps. Give him room to do his thing.
Also, the ability of the healer is not separated from the performance of the dps. If one dps is bad, healers go 3-3. Happens all the time.
Sounds to me like you are in need of a severe attitude adjustment. No offense intended.
I can’t help my healer if they don’t press buttons. I absolutely shouldn’t have to keep covering for a healer when they don’t press stuff, don’t dispel, or get caught in CC they shouldn’t. I just end up not doing enough damage. It’s a lot easier on my mage because I can aggressively peel with poly spams and have a lot more control to make up for it
Conversely, healer can’t help you if they can’t press buttons because they are in a poly.
Something that happens to me a lot as a healer is I get sapped at start. You can’t trinket sap, because then you just get full blind.
So Im in the sap, clicking my macro that saus /i Healer in CC.
And no one cares. They just tunnel something until they die.
If they manage to survive until sap ends, I get blind. If I trinket that I get cheap shot or kidney.
I imagine these are the times you go “that healer is so bad. He didn’t press any buttons”…
I could say the same as you. I absolutely should not have to suffer rating loss because of dps with no game awareness. But what does that get me? Nothing. So stop whining and take responsibility for your own rating.
Problem is how do u measute who the best dps was? Since arena i general is not just who does the most dmg, its when u do dmg, cc , puts up wall etc etc. Hard for an automatic system to judge that.
Yes. It doesn’t measure the best dps. It measures the best team according to who wins. Its called solo shuffle, but its still a team effort. It doesn’t matter if you are the king zugzug if you can’t think like a team player. Sounds to me you want to be judged by your individual performance.
Here is a suggestion about that. I do this myself…
If you lost the game, your individual performance was bad. Even when Im stuck in saps and blinds, maybe there was something I could have done. Maybe I could have told my team in advance to look out for this. Maybe I could have done trinket and fear instantly. Or trinket and port away if I was on my mistweaver.
Maybe there is nothing to do at times. But its a better way to think than saying you’re being punished because everyone else is bad.
Again, I’m not talking about popping defensives whilst the healer is CC’ed
I’m talking stuff like priests or shamans very often doing zero dispels in games, esp vs things like BoP or alter time, not dispelling DPS and letting them sit full CCs
How do you decide if they should have been caught in that cc or not?
Sometimes the only choice as a healer is go into the open and risk cc, or let your warr die behind the pillar on the other side of the map after he heroic leaped after a mage who was in execute range.
I don’t blame the warr. He saw a chance and took it. But without comms stuff like this happens. No use crying about it.
I’m pretty sure DPS on your mentioned Mmr ALWAYs have something they could’ve done better so uh
it’s a lot easier to carry shuffle games as a dps than it is as a healer
thats all u need to know.
1.8 aint hard at all to push throug IF u belong on a higher rating. in sl it was the boosters holding “u” back, now its the 0-6 healers but in reality u are just not good enough. improve ur gameplay and u will climb.
If you sit on a poly on your warrior and lets say the other teammate gets focused and HOJ’d without a trinket. Who in that situation healer dispels? Easy, the one who is HOJ’d. Sadly less than a global someone is dead or the dps didn’t use even a DR stun, fear etc for that such important global that the healer can recover. Most of the warriors always jump in with a leap and and instantly open with a fear followed by an stormbolt to healer but they are not paying attention to their surroundings in the game. Staying on cleave full time, not using disarm, not using sometimes a fear to score a kill etc. Warrior has the best disruptive abilities in the game but half of them are not even used effectively on lower ratings. Warriors tend to overextend a lot in solo shuffle but they flame healers as their kill target just runs away and that is always on a healer. Since day 1 of arena position has always been a key to win.
No, it’s not me not being dispelled, I get it’s got a CD. But, it’s like, a really common thing to go on details and see not a single one was cast, I’m aware of the healers positioning and not wasting leap (I open with dismounting piercing howl to save gap closers for later on). Sure, I can disarm, intervene, rally, storm bolt, fear, duel to peel people, but there’s a point when it just isn’t enough when I have to use CC defensively in a situation where I should have had it offensively
Most of the healers are not using direct heals to cast because they are too expensive to use because longer globals, especially shamans have rotation to keep ES on followed by riptide especially when there’s a lot of movement involved. One simple mechanic in this game is absolutely sad and that is fear by priest and followed by warlock. During a fear, the enemy team wants to kite away from a healer and as healer tries to get back in and the team trains the enemy team, then again your healer is vulnerable for getting another set of cc and that makes the game for the enemy team.
Kinda funny how both healer and dps on here are complaining about each other going 0-6 and not receiving any rewards for a 3-3.
Like get real, if you don’t play good enough to have any impact on the outcome of the lobby, you don’t deserve free points. Sure, you will get lobbies where you go 3-3 while climbing, no matter what you do, but if it’s most of your games, you have reached the rating where you currently belong. Try looking at your own mistakes before blaming your mates, at that rating there’s like 20 things per game you could’ve done better.
Having only played a bit of shuffle as mainly rogue but a little disc, I think theres always sonething you can do yourself. Most dps in the very low bracket i healed in kick 0 cc spells and most dont off cc ever.
Tbh jumping into SS as a new healer is a bit daunting but i did have some fun. Many dps are suicidal though. I just tried to make sure i had no cds left when someone dies but sitting clones when im with 2 ranged kickers sucks
its not a “huge problem” at all. Just got through that rating on my alt boomy. Obviously there is an 3:3 from time to time but you dont lose rating for that so next game you have a chance to have more impact and go positive again. Its not holding anyone back from climbing out of the 1400-1800 bracket.
