I’ll be honest; the rep, certain quests etc. I would do all of them. I would just very slowly grind it and be done with it eventually.
But to pay for the fanction change? No, I would not do that.
Gotta say though, I find it REALLY weird that such races had requirements. For a new player starting WoW, new races don’t really mean much. They will simply look at them and think “Why would i wanna bother? It’s so much time wasting”.
Just another weird thing that prevents new players coming to WoW or giving up half-way.
Which faction identity? The one the community spreads by encouraging Horde as the faction to go to for anyone doing high-end PvE? Or the one were our faction leaders becomes villains and we cooperate with the other faction to save each others and the world?
Only roleplayers with their mindset stuck in the early phases of vanilla cares about faction identity. Everyone else acknowledges that the factions lorewise are coming at a merging point where at this point faction tag, language- and grouping barrier is archaic.
They should have never allowed faction changes and merge servers more aggressively. I might be wrong but I think if you have a system/design that’s rather fragile you need to make sure that players trying to change it have a big hurdle to overcome.
But that’s just theoretical, maybe people would just say “fk it” and leave.
Yes, that’s the fix. They won’t implement it because of the supposed technical difficulties. I guess they will do this sooner or later and present it as a huge feature, while in reality this is simply a necessity and has been for years.
They don’t really have to be merged. Or anything really. Just let us group up, we can just be the ‘‘Champions of Azeroth’’ grouping together for content. We don’t need to go to Silvermoon as a night elf to group up - and it’d be understandable if npcs just attack us on sight for reasons.
As a lore explanation when we fight the big bad we don’t have much choice and group up with the enemy to fight what would otherwise wipe everyone out. I don’t see how would that be reeeeally hard to make. I mean, private servers did it and it didn’t seem to break anything for them
