Yo , so im fresh to wotlk ( and thus my realm) . How do you gear without geting boost for gold or by guild ?
Rn im at like 2.4gs, people are not runing normal HCs , and everyone that does HC+ wants to have 4.5k group , also the number of groups is kinda low considered fact im playing on bigest aliance server.
Are golds/gdkp my only option to at least get gear for HC+ and then do regular raids ? And if yes, how do i get enough gold for those ? I have like 4k and people are asking for 1-3k per item … i feel kinda lost there realy.
Try doing Icecrown, Storm Peaks, and Sholazar Basin quests, some of them gives emblem of heroism.
Do other left over quests to get gold then you can either buy Purple or Blue gear.
Some purple can be BiS and some blues can be ad cheap as 50~100 gold.
Other than that you should try to form a dungeon group looking for normal heroics and keep trying, you might be lucky and find highly geared people who just wants to farm emblems for Heirloom gear or something.
There is another but dishonest way to do it, try joining Winters Grasp pvp group and get Honor points by doing weekly quests you then spend it on pvp gear, at least you have some good stats compared to Green gears you might be wearing.
Ive checked Ah for some ez gear , and there are few blue items for me for like 200-300g, which are very small upgrade, and then bunch of epics going for 600- 3000.
As to northrend , ive done like 70quests in IC so far, guess ill have to comr back there and finish rest .
Checkup your BiS items. Some items u can buy from AH (on 80lvl), others need from reputation (for items and enchants). See what rep u need, start doing quests for this faction, buy tabard etc. On 80lvl run normal dungeons to fill up some items u critically need (like a trinket from Normal CoS for hpaly, named “Soul Preserver”). When u reach 3.5k GS u can run H+ dungeons, raid Naxx10-25 etc.
P.S. If u dont have much gold for buy items from AH dont worry. Just run H dungeons then H+. Ez clap.
Just like Farminglol said, buy some items. 4k gold (and a few heroic dungeons) should be more than enough to push your GS to 4k, then you can go naxx/os/eoe untill around 4,4 and you should get invited to ulduar normal mode pugs.
You can also do a few wintergrasps for itemlvl 232 gear.
Also: dont buy crafted gear, buy the mats instead and look for someone to craft them.
232 plate belt/boots cost around 1,1k each if you buy the orbs and bars on the auctionhouse, so 2,2k for both. Then there are atleast 3-4 crafted itemlvl 200 items which cost about 100g each if you buy the mats, on top of that you can buy atleast 1 cheap darkmooncard for 100g aswell.
213 valor wrists are super cheap (just spam the tradechat saying you wanna buy them, 300g max) + for some classes ulduar 10 trashdrops are also between 60-600g each.
Just buy whatever is cheap and pushes your itemlvl, the goal is to become naxxready so there is no need for “optimal” stats.
So a little research shows me that 4.4k GS is ilvl218. You can’t get ilvl 218 by farming heroism badges for ilvl200 pieces and buying a few ilvl225/232 pieces from AH.
You can do a lot with some gold, but there is no way you’re putting together an ilvl218 avg set when half your options are ilvl200 with a few ilvl213 bits sprinkled in, the best options you do have for pumping ilvl are the PVP pieces which is just cheesing because they are horrible in PVE.
One of the strongest items you can buy for dps is a Greatness deck, but that’s also ilvl200 and will not help your “GS”. You also cannot get anything higher than an ilvl200 weapon without arena points, HC+ or raiding, and an ilvl200 weapon isn’t going to help you get a high “GS”, quite the opposite.
All that said, nobody is asking for ilvl218 to run a HC+.
I like how most of the solutions for the problem focus on oneself - after all, you gotta pay your dues. On the other hand, this is an MMO after all - and it’s only normal that you find it difficult to compete against other players that decide to group to progress.
That would be no isssue at all to me . Ci played retail quite a lot so competing for groups / spots is something i can handle well
What is my issue tho, is fact that barely any people run regular HCs, because they are past this point , and people that are doing HC+ demand gear so high its no point to run those dungeons for gear , so also no shot for me .
So rithg now my best option is to spend X thousands of gold to get somehow decent gear ( on some pieces) to bump my ilvl and get a chance to run something which i personaly view as a fault in design .
You can PvP to get some easy gear. But alternatively you can try start your own HC+ group. Absolutely no reason to ask for a minimum GS for HC+. All clearable with freah dinged lvl 80s just take slightly longer.
Could alternatively try find a naxx group. Weirdly people ask for a lower minimum GS for naxx than HC+
You can can thank to the anti-RDF team, which makes that happened. So Where are you rn guys? Cried all the time bout that social aspect, right? Where is ur social aspect, when u cant even get to any HC+(only daily one is viable). What a story, listening to the minority lead us to that point
Yes, yes. You’re so smart, everyone applaud this guy.
Need a new car? RDF
Need to pay the bills? RDF
Still don’t have a cute gf? RDF
Friends all know you’re a loser and you want them to praise you instead? RDF
Make sure you all ask Blizzard for RDF so they can fix all of your personal problems.
I know you are trying to be funny, but you are missing the point completely, since there are several issues RDF really fixes:
Only one “daily dungeon”, no variety with alts: RDF
Small server population, hard to find dungeon members: RDF
Leveling dungeon content, not enough players in level range: RDF
Dungeon isnt being used because its too tedious to travel to: RDF
New lvl 80 cannot gear up via heroic dungeons, because of low activity: RDF
Originally RDF also mixed geared players with new players, since the daily wasnt fixed anymore and gearing players could enter all dungeons without problems. This might be more difficult today, because heroic+ specifically separates low geared from good geared players, the opposite of what the original wotlk devs had in mind.
In conclusion, you do not understand these arguments, as you call them “personal problems”, as if you do not understand, that every human problem, no matter what kind, has a “personal” level.
Rdf doesnt fix anything since hc+ currently drops lower itemlvl loot than naxx 10 which is completely free. That gear in combination with the crafted/boes from the ah will easily get you into ulduar.
