Don’t bother, girls or dudes but sorry from my experience, especially girls are all talk and giggles but when it comes to their reliance it’s 
in general.
I know i am probably the only one that have had this experience. But you’ll understand me completely when you like helping others for years and years on end in this game.
Only to be let down by those you helped to only help you once then never ever again come back to you again after that. Even when they told you numerous times they would wanna help you anytime you want, not just 1 time then **** off forever.
You’d rather not want anyone helping you at all then.
And don’t even give me the guild advise. It’s the same crap i experience in there.
Your own Freedom is better than constant dissapointments of others.

Wrong, they are just dishonest everytime about their actual on goings and let over credulousness from my actions from them get them too much carried away.
This is the problem i have experienced with players in this game from actions towards helping, none of them ever wanna be honest and tell me they really can’t live up to their numerous words in actions more than once!
It’s like a Girl that has to do tons of Work with their Guildies such as Raid Event or Similar. Then i help them and tell me they really appreciated i helped them and will definitely wanna help me again if i need it.
The time comes, they come back to help me first time.
The second time comes:

The girl never comes to help me again and i am just like '‘why did even i bother believeing their words once again…’'
They could avoid me these let downs by simply telling me their actual things they are going through in their position or irl. But they never do and thats why i am tired of people’s words.
Also i know it’s the internet, but selfishness from getting too carried away from over credulousness. Can only be acceptable to go through so many times until you just get fed up of it.

Minds me of a couple of guys I’ve been raiding with during BC and WotLK, who left their guild because the GM was a choleric rage raid lead in teamspeak. Even offered them refugee in my own guild just for them to leave and take a couple of my own guild members with them.
Minds me of those two blokes I helped out in BfA M+. Always summoned them too because they were too lazy to fly to a single instance. Even joined their com and helped their twinks levelling just to be left behind with SL launch.
Minds me of some blokes I helped gearing and getting accustomed to Dungeon gameplay in SL when they had absolutely no clue about it. Even sponsored flasks and enchants, gave one of them the chance to tank in my raid and kept him despite his epic movement fails just to be introduced to their unreliable attitude regarding raid responsibilities. They switched to horde and left me back with a com raid we put up together and which was falling apart afterwards.

Well, yes but indifferent to your description, my cases were all male and I’m female, so… could flip that coin easily.
And I don’t even want to talk about the awkward moves some male players make towards female players. Like, trying to impress them by bragging about how they are raid assist in MY raid promising girls to get a spot in the next raid ID and end cooperation with me because I refuse to integrate a low item level char with green (!) gear to increase someone’s flirt chances.
(I got banned from their raid TS afterwards…)

Yeah it was a different description, but i also did say girls or dudes, meaning either. But still your experiences are not from mine therefore i feel like they are not far from being similiar. It’s just with dudes instead ofcourse.
Also yikes, next level of Pathetic Attention Desperateness those dudes. They really need psychologist irl help badly.

Problem is that some still deem the gaming world exclusive male territory. And the average bro-talk in groups and raids confirms it. Plus a lot of guys probably don’t have much experience with women at all. Not sure how many women feel like that’s a proper pre-condition to date in the first place lol.
