After the extremely boring leveling process to 60 I finally got to the end-game campaign. I had to do 3 world quests and those are the last I will do, because they’re long and trash. It was bad during bfa but now they’re even worse.
Eitherway now I get a wonderful quest to get anima, only they forget to mention WHERE YOU GET ANIMA. Good lord. Why do I need a degree in physics or have wowhead open to understand the most basic of stuff in retail wow.
PS why I’m creating this topic is because I’m tired of Google’ing. The game should be more clear, I should not need malware invested websites like wowhead to understand the most basic of things. Here is the quest:

nowhere does it say where you get anima.
Every chest, rare, dungeon boss or raid boss in the game drop some. Missions, World quests, daily quests, assaults & some storylines also drop some. You most likely already got some while leveling if you didn’t mindlessly follow the questline.
Doesn’t show where you get anima. Not in the map, not in the quest. Hence the topic. I could’ve google. But i’ll post a topic for every dumb design I come across instead.
Ye I’m not doing any more world quests, 3 was MORE than enough. I know mobile games more fun than that.
It’s just everywhere. Every battleground, arena, dungeon finder or LFR queue give some.
Fyi a full raid clear gives around 1k without any upgrade. Spending tons of anima in your covenant upgrades can increase that to 2.1K. (all tier 1 buildings will give you +35 on every reward, all tier 2 another +35 etc & bosses drop 105 anima baseline iirc)
Worldquests rewards should appear on the map & most of them give anima.
O well the 3 I did, did not and the other 2 do not in bastion at least. So I can just do mythic dungeons and get anima, great hopefully that can be somewhat fun.
Do I need anima for power? I just wanna do M+. The world quests are to boring, just not gonna do them.
The 1k anima is a weekly quest giving you 1 of the 2 renown increase you can expect each week beside catch-up. Basically play the game, get the 1k anima from actual content (a few dungeon, PvP or z full raid clear should be more than enough)
Catch-up is simple enough : Play the game and upon killing bosses, doing PvP or the daily callings (World content) you’ll sometimes get a free level until you catch-up with the playerbase. A raid or worldboss boss being limited to 1 per week has a higher chance of giving you one.
The only player power you’ll get from renown comes from the minor upgrades in your soulbinds. Far from being game breaking but still nice to have, especially conduit slots.
Once you catch-up you can either ignore it and let catch-up give you that missing level (but you’ll always be a week behind the playerbase) or just play the game & you’ll get your 1K anima without really paying it any attention.
The 9.1 assaults and quests do give a lot of anima tho, lay be worth considering doing them.
I’ve done some mythics, opened some chests but none of those dropped anima. Sadly it is very unclear where to get it.
Who does WQ’s? I had to do 3 for the campaign and that was painful enough, not going to torture myself more with those 35 anima quests lmao. Or any wq.
World quests are probably the most plentiful source of anima gain. If you want to avoid them that’s fine and totally your choice, but that means your weekly quest to gain renown by collecting 1000 anima is going to be slow work and potentially not possible unless you are going to spam an awful lot of mythic dungeons.
The weekly world boss will award you 250, there are also random world quests that yield 250 anima for the 1 quest, they are not always up though so I would keep an eye out for those at least.
Did you perhaps delete all the green & blue items that they drop with the description “turn this item to your covenant to get X anima” ? They have no vendor price do they are either rotting in your bags or you deleted them.
Rares and chests give green items worth 5 anima each, dungeons PvP & raids drop blues worth 35. Some quests & WQ drop purples worth 250 each
I believe there’s one up for today’s Calling in Maldraxxus - it’s a group WQ but there are always groups in the group finder for these, and if not then just start your own group and it will fill up quickly.
So you could do that, and the world boss and that’s 500 anima done. Do some LFR if you can queue for that and you’re done. Or just send followers on missions and get the anima slowly over a longer period.
