How to get rid of GDKPs

People raid for gear, It’s simple.

Ppl are quitting because wotlk werent that much fun. Its even worse now compared to what it was before.

Gold sellers have gold on each realm.

Retail lockouts do not work like that. You can even clear the raid an infinite amount of times but you won’t get loot form the bosses you are saved to.

That’s mythic lockout and how Classic lockout works. Not a typical retail lockout.

Say hi to Gallywix and friends and all those world first race guilds now selling carries for the mount or whatnot to pay their bills for the race. It’s not called “GDKP” but it’s a paid run.

Blizzard even had to add new rules on where you can advertise your own paid services and banned running cross-realm organizations like Gallywix.

You do realize boosters and gold sellers are on each realm so they can run GDKP as they are doing now? And that majority of Classic players are on few mega-realms?

And raiding on retail is dead, people do only m+

Personal loot. Then you can GDKP deez nutz

I guess my guild didn’t get that message, I’ll let them know to stop their weekly runs, thx for the heads up!

To be fair, there is GDKP in retail, it is just outright full clear boosts, that costs an amount of set gold and most of the time has IRL money alternatives through their advertised website.

Retail is infested with boosting groups that is exactly the same as gdkp, just with set prices.

Each to his. If loot rolls were truly best roll wins, I would again consider do dungeons.

Would be really fun for TF on a mage, pala or hunter… And it made raids rather boring and had to be force-fed with weekly loot picker.

Yeah that’s true.

Retail doesn’t have GDKP but it has had gold boosts for years. We used to boost Mythic Archimonde for 1million gold in WOD, just Archimonde. If you wanted a full boost it was more gold, we would throw in Mythic Blackhand kill for 100k if you bought Archimonde.

Boosting in WOD paid for my subscription for years, back when the retail gold token was only 20k gold. Boosting isn’t a problem that disappears from your solutions, there are gold boosts to this day.

Classic simply adopted the GDKP model because the content was way easier and you could sell to more people.

How would you feel if Blizzard made content harder to discourage GDKPs? It would not remove them outright, but I feel that would reduce their popularity, since people probably no longer would be able to have more than half of the raid as buyers.

And we are back to the fantasy world where the average gdkp kills Algalon and Yogg +0 with half the raid as buyers while the average guild struggled to clear Ulduar. :joy:

how? nerf this s raid, so everyone can do it and dont need to buy the gear, but they need more the 40iq for that

How is it toxic if i consistently perform for 20 weeks and i havent won a single hc item on roll? Without gdkp where i’m atleast rewarded for being there i would have been long gone since i need those items and game is unplayable without them.

People leave because of bots
Bots are farmimg gold for epic flying and gdkp

People leave because of token
Token is bought because of epic flying and gdkp

“Gdkp is the only reason this game is semi alive”

Well, I guess more people left because of gdkp imo

I feel like hard raids harm the game very much. Ulduar proofs so.
Classic raiding is about to organize correctly, not about skill.
Also… most gdkp with discord are bettr organizied then casual/progress gildes are…

How so? Geared players who were benched in their guilds or have geared alts can earn gold, while ungeared alts can benefit from a carry so pay gold for the service if the loot they need drops.

The only ones left outside are gearless leeches, who do not want to pay people gold for carry, nor have the gear themselves to kill bosses they want gear from. I’de say none of PUGs need thouse who want to go to Ulduar 25 in sub 4K anyway.

True, but we left Classic almost 2 year ago in June 1st 2021.

Ulduar isn’t a hard raid, and it has been the best raiding phase in Classic so far. If you want to make a difficulty scale, Ulduar is somewhere around a 6/10. It’s only hard compared compared to other Classic raids with the exception of Sunwell which was harder too.

Hard raids harm the game when the best players in the world fail after 3 weeks of 12 hour raiding days, they don’t harm the game because really bad players with poorly geared characters can’t kill the hardest boss in a poorly organised pug.

You’re suggesting the lower player numbers are due to Ulduar? This is poor logic because it requires you to ignore everything else that has taken place and the natural course of new release “hype” fading.

  1. Bots infesting the game, ruining battlegrounds. Blizzard doing nothing
  2. Customer support non existent, months of waiting for tickets.
  3. Players trapped on dead servers or one-sided factions
  4. Blizzard doing crazy things with locking servers and free transfers (like wtf was Firemaw > Gehennes free transer about?)
  5. Ulduar ilvl changes impacting arena (trinkets/offpieces).
  6. Arena hacking and other cheating methods freely taking place.
  7. HC+ killing HC dungeons making it harder to gear alts
  8. No RDF to help fix the problem that HC+ created.

WOTLK was always going to lose players after the launch, because Naxx was such a boring pointless raid. But PvP being ruined in several ways and the HC dungeon gear path also being affected slowed down gearing.

Ulduar was and is an amazing raid, easily the best in Classic to date. WOTLK Classic was a disaster as a whole, because of Blizzard.

Not everyone can afford to pay the gold to play in the raids, thus never get gear at all thus reducing the raiding characters in the game.

If Blizz actually banned the RMT ppl then 99% of all GDKP would end at the same moment.
