How to get shadowlands Beta?

all we know so far is popular streamers and content creators get most of the times early access, not always the case tho.

will Blizzy ever consider a way to select players by “game time played” “mythic raid progression” “Arena Rating last season” "RiderIO above

would give players at least something to strive for, and be a more reasonable way than giving itto randoms that will play it max 10 hours a week over nolifers like me that would play it 10 hrs a day, just asking

any better idea ?

Everyone who is either gladiator or cleared 12/12 mythic is supposed to have alpha already.

They choose a mix of players for testing. obviously streamers are good because they will test many aspects of the game for their followers. They also make have vods and make YouTube’s to show various content.

There is always far more people willing to test than they need. It’s always going to be a bit of a lottery.

Best of luck :four_leaf_clover:

ye they always seem to have so many testers but then we know what first patch of most expansions is like

Thats because the vast majority aren’t testing they just want to 'play the new stuff

I think that’s an unfair criticism of testers. They give lots of feedback and report lots of bugs. Whether or not Blizzard act on them is their call.

Darn.

There will be targeted invites going around in the beta. But those are often later in the proses. When the raid is ready to be tested they will invite the players with the most experience in raids. Same for PvP and alts.

When they get round to raid testing they’ll invite capable guilds

Is it weird that I’m not expecting one?

That’s not true. I have a bunch of multi r1 and mythic raider friends that don’t have Alpha. I’ve heard they’ll get access once pvp and/or raids are available on the beta.

Nobody in my 12/12 mythic guild has alpha access. (World 300 guild). Nobody in a friends 12/12 mythic guild has alpha access either. (Famed Slayer Horde Guild)

Alpha is for seasoned testers, streamers and a few lucky people, at best and streamers + a few lucky people / friends of streamers at worst.

I got beta Warlords, Legion and BFA, without being a streamer, its a lottery if you get in to Beta, I was lucky to be picked, and if i get it again then yay, but its not the end of the world.

Remember Beat is more to find and iron out bugs by reporting them, not to treat it as retail.

So, do exactly that, follow these 10 steps:

    1. Start streaming
    1. Become bald
    1. Become mald
    1. Get a sidekick
    1. Host community events
    1. Complain about BFA
    1. Worship classic
    1. Steal others content by reacting to it
    1. Wear the same shirt every day
    1. Tadaa, there’s your free Beta Key

the danger of geting a beta key is ur to hyped to play beta u play like 12 hours every day for 6 month then shadowlands comes ur burned out and know everything about shadowlands already so there is no more hype or suprises when it gets reliced.

The obly thing i dont understand about alpha/beta are the numbers. Blizzard inv XY people to test stuff thats already added, and then when u watch those vids and streams those testers are like " yea we should test this and that and do also this, but we cant because there is so few people and we wait XY to get into dungeon"

Im not saying let all play beta(alpha) but maybe, even if the testers think they need more to properly test, there should be more…

I think they already do that. You can also get alpha/beta through having close friends/family who work for Blizzard, even if it’s just a customer service job.

I wonder if 2400 rating is enough to be considered for PvP-focused testing or if they’re only interested in the rank1s when it comes to that.

Which is exactly why more testers are being added in the beta round. In Alpha their focus was on the levelling and at times it would be up to an hour wait to get into dungeons. There is also the time difference of all the people testing. We are all put on a US based test server. It is the middle of the night when I play so it’s only other EU players I will run into.

From discussions on twitter the Alliance side seemed quieter than the Horde. But that could just have been a specific snapshot.
