Doing some RP wondering if someone could answer using Lore. How can an alliance character get to The Exodar without using Portals or flight paths, Boats are acceptable. . Starting from The crossroads in barrens.
Do I just walk north? Or go south to theramore? … Do boats still leave Theramore in lore?
There is a boat from auberdine
Iirc the only boat going to the Exodar would be by using the old (pre tree burning) Auberdine port which would also require using Zidormi in Darkshore to change the map to the old one.
That boat doesn’t exist since BFA. There are only portals nowadays from either Stormwind, Darnassus or Teldrassil.
Portals are mage magic, and there are gryphon riders (and presumably horde equivalent) in lore. I’m sure darnasus has the boat to exodar.
From an RP perspective, it all depends on the status of Darkshore. If the Horde and Alliance aren’t currently tearing strips from each other then there would potentially be boats sailing between night elf settlements and the Exodar. If it is still a warfront there will likely be no transport available unless you’re an active combatant in the conflict.
If you’re determined not to fly and to travel by boat then your best bet might be to head to Feathermoon Stronghold(?) in Feralas and take a boat from there. Or sail to the Eastern Kingdoms via Ratchet and sail back to the Exodar from one of the Alliance ports.
I doubt there is any maritime traffic to Theramore in the current game (RP-wise). It was still a bombed-out ruin at the start of BFA and I doubt anyone had the resources to rebuild it during the war.
