Simple question how does one get to the The Wandering Isle, I have looked up some threads, wowhead and its all mash but they bits saying you dont need this anymore etc etc
What is the simplest way to get to that island?
Make a new Pandaren. This is also the only way to get there.

You don’t.
Unless you are a Monk.
Pandaren (and only Pandaren) start off there for their questing experience. If you are playing a Monk, then your Class Order hall during the ‘Legion’ expansion is on an updated version of the Wandering Isle.
I never actually levelled a Monk in Legion so I don’t know the method they use precisely, but I know it is there.
Otherwise I am afraid the simple answer is that you cannot get there.

Here is the middle bit I dont get, I want to get Ban - FU cub, How do i get one of these? since you need 1000
do I have to level right up to lvl 60?

You pretty much need a top end Monk character I’m afraid, yes, as the currency is not available to starting Pandaren, and only Monks get to see that vendor to buy the pet. It isn’t tradeable, but once you have it on a monk you can use it on other characters on the same account I believe.

yeah, i reckon he doesnt need level 60 but i havent really done anything in legion since the squish so i assume level…45ish should be enough (?)

Pretty sure you’re right, my DK is top end Legion level as I never started BfA on him, and I am certain he is level 45 since the squish.
We just get a teleport spell, and there’s a portal to Dalaran. It’s really quite convenient as a Stormwind shortcut too 
Worth mentioning, the class hall Wandering Isle does not have any of the level 1-15 vendors on it. If the OP was hoping to pick up some of the unique teas; roll a new pandaren, stuff it’s inventory before you leave.
