The situation is this: I have a ww at ilvl190 and I still feel that out of cooldowns I am too much in danger. Last time in my raid group while killing the world boss, I got so frustrated that I died without recieving a single heal, that I stood next to the ranged and only used crackling jade . When I doing world quest with elites involved, an accidentall pull and I can run away like a headless chicken or do the corpse run.
Now I’m 37y old. Started with wow beta, then it become a love/hate realationship, so I am not retarded just slower already. And sometimes I have to share my attention even when playing(wife or the kids ask something, a client of mine calling…) aaaand corpse run again, because I missed karma.
So the question is: is it become trivial with even higher ilvl, or I can keep ww for group content but should switch to brm or mw for solo play? Which one is better with soloing elites for map completition, doing the daily chores?
I never understood how people can play WW in any pve, leveling or dailies. I just run MW and take a bit longer to kill stuff but I’m in no danger of dying at least
ww is the definition of a glass cannon class, but i’m not feeling as weak as you imply.
For example in the maw at perdition hold, i was rezing a guy. Some elites respawned in my back (i took 3 elites ~100k hp), it was dangerous but still i took them down in a min or so.
ilvl can probably ease your days, covenant/conduits also play a part.
If you want to survive without looking at screen for 10-60 sec in a dangerous place, you should switch to mistweaver for outside content. You’ll have more mechanism to survive.
But for soloing elites, i would still go ww + paying attention (it’s just faster)
I think your problem is playing with WM off. PvP talents help A LOT.
Reverse Harm doubles the healing of Expel Harm and provides an extra Chi when used.
Alpha Tiger grants you 30% Haste upon attacking a new target with Tiger Palm. This can happen once every 30 seconds per target.
Turbo Fists causes Fists of Fury to deal full damage to all targets hit and reduce their movement speed by 90%. It additionally grants you 100% Parry chance during the channel.
WW is like a lame duck without these talents. With them you should have no problems fighting 3-10 mobs at once, depending on your ilvl.
Also… Chi Wave heals A LOT more than the other tier 1 talents for outdoors PvE content.
Got no problems soloing Perdition Hold elites, unless I somehow get more than 2 on me at the same time (with 1 kept in Paralysis). OFC you still need CDs to beat elites solo. You’re not a tank. If you want to solo 5 elites at once, you need to switch to Brewmaster. The damage is downright pitiful, but you can survive a lot more.
Hey oldie! 1983, here as well
I don’t have that much of a problem soloing stuff in SL. As a Monk we got great burst to pop off when we wanna see somthing dead quickly.
If you are taking alot of dmg, serpent fly away and heal up fast and back in to battle works. Or use your ring of peace and cast a few heals. I am at ilvl 197 atm and pve is damn easy now.
And my wm is off. When its on i only see alliance everywhere. Just use our toolkit. Teleport+heal, RoP+heal, Maybe go for the ToK heal in the talent tree would help a bit.
Thanks for you all. Yeah I play with wm off, because with low ilvl I will be deleted by everyone who geared normally and not al altoholic.
I mean, I can solo AN elite. Or maybe if I use everything 2. But after that wait in some dark corner for the cooldowns.
Today I switched for brm for questing. Wanted to try mw, but I don’t have an offhand weapon yet.
So as a brm I soloed the blood thing in maldraxus, and the rare elite spider in the cave. Forgot the names. It was impossible as ww to even dream about this. No prob, same gear so if something is too hard I just switch now. If only we would recieve the same damage and not the 1.5 as tanks, maybe I would even turn wm on.
That is indeed a good tactic! I do the same if the encounter is way to hard like the elite area in maldraxxus.
Well if you go for brewmaster in pvp with WM ON i think you are only delaying the same faith that waits for you as a WW when you get jumped on by a angry lynchmobb of alliance players haha.
But why not try it You might be able to outrun them.
Well as a brm I solo everything.
I can pull 2-3 elite mob and still solo a boss. Thats a different world. I’m working on a druid right now, and instantly switched to guardian for solo content. Tanks are very safe. I can not die, and the damage is not that low, especially since you do aoe.
