Im loving my druid in M+ compared to my old shaman, the tookit, the movement and flexibility is just insane and im loving it.
The only downside im struggling a bit with though is spot healing if a group in M+ stands in the fire. I know in an ideal world, they wouldnt stand in the fire but it happens, and my toolkit with my current setup cant hack it.
Icyveins recommends taking cenarion ward and photosynthesis, and actively advises against prosperity and germination - but are these viable for spot healing outside of min maxing (Assuming you stay with cultivation and not soul of the forest?).
Not sure what to say here. It’s swiftmend or regrowth if people need a quick top-off. I agree you should never take prosperity or sotf.
In an ideal world people should have a rejuv on them if you think damage is incoming, that and they should be standing in the happy green circle. Thats already reasonably substantial passive heals. If someone stands in so much bad a regrowth doesn’t save them then its not your fault. Also, don’t forget ironbark, its only a 1 min CD for o… moments.
With my monk i have 0 problems spamming heals to people that take alot of avoidable damage, druid is not easy to spam big heals. You have swiftmend and it has a cd. Now if you need to spam huge heals is not your problem is the person that takes alot of avoidable damage.
A very nice “fix” for your problem would be the azerite essence well of existence, since your HoT’s will always overheal you will be filling it like a madman. You can rotate then your swiftmend and this that can be a huge heal.
The ideal would be well of existence at rank 3 that will NOT overheal. But you need a serious effort for this that includes 40 damn boxes and ofc exalted on rustbolt.
Rly duno why ppl dont use more prospecity + soul of forest… Its absolute blast. Cast lifebloom o urself and u get 20% haste…its amazing. Lifebloom on u, swiftmend with empowered wild growth and u will be happy, trust me.
As things are right now druid mastery is entirely broken, therefore you go for cultivation/ward because that 2 extra HoTs increase all your healing by XX% your mastery is. Its not just strong, its broken
Also, if you ever heal with your druid and take a look on how much ward crits for…yeah its amazing id say.
Now if you want a dummy friendly M+ build that you absolutely NEED to spam regrowth’s, abundance is the way to go but still its entirely useless in between experienced M+ players
azerite armor give another hot after swiftmend… is another hot for mastery. Critting with swiftmend almost 140k, then regrowth with 200% power, Iam not hardcore, but for keys arround 10 its perfect aoe or single healing. Depend what u cast after swiftmend. Thank u for ur advice but give a shot my build and u will be maybe nicely surprised.
Icyveins definitely does not advise against Germination. In fact, it actually recommends it as an option for dungeons. I take it over Photosynthesis, mainly because I run Abundance.
If it’s spot healing and spiky damage in general you’re struggling with, I’d give abundance/germination a try. Your regrowths will become everything you ever needed them to be.
You definietly shouldnt struggle too much with it.
Ideally you should already have atleast a rejuv on ppl who will take a lot of damage and that means having cultivation also proc if they are in danger. If they are in melee in your shroom then thats 3 hots which is with my current level of mastery would be 48%-49% increased healing from anything you do after that. Then you just spam regrowth. For me it works wonders. And ofc swiftmend is also there. Grove tending for the extra hot is amazing. And most weeks cenarion ward is the best option. Its great tool to put it on tank and forget about him for a while or put it on someone with a heavy dot.
As for abundance, its also good, especially this week since you have to spam so much more regrowths because of grievous. Thats the only week i consider using it in dungeons.
Sotf and prosperity is a meme in every content that the dreamgrove community brings up every day.
One thing ppl bring up as an argument is that top players using it for keys. In reality those healers barely have to go full out heal, and spend much of their time just dpsing and they take talents because they think it helps them to do niche things.
In reality, you are just gimping yourself choosing prosperity, since after the first uses you will have to wait on recharge and barely gain anything from it overall. The other talents are just mathematically stronger.
One actually useful situation top players bring up is freehold eudora on high keys in which case they would only use swiftmend if the same person gets powder shot twice in a row(assuming they dont just los it since it basically oneshots on high keys.)
As for germination
The only argument for using germination was KR because of the 2 target spotheal it required. Here meaning the tank plus the person with heavy debuff from first and 3rd boss and maybe 2nd aswell.
I cant think of any other dungeon its worth to use over photo. It reduces the time you can spend on dpsing aswell as its less versatile compared. Photo will give you strong aoe healing and stronger single target with a lot less GCDs invested.
Photo is said to be best for pretty much every situation and every dungeon and most ppl dont take germination over it even in KR anymore. Just put lifebloom on the debuffed player on first boss while the cast is going out plus a rejuv. Then rotate swiftmend and cenarion ward plus ironbark and the dpsers personals. Have shroom on debuff drop down area. Win.
For spothealing the tank, you would always have lifebloom on him, a rejuv and your shroom on top. If he dips low thats 4 hots baseline. I can top him up if needed with just one regrowth or swiftmend with that mastery power. Or just let a cenarion ward tick down on him.
Overall, if they stick to standing in too much fire they deserve to die. Its not your problem.
Edit: oh well, bnet thought it should change my commenting character to a random one i never even play instead of staying on my druid…
I tried Well major a few times and generally I would advise against it. The main problem is that the well empties relatively quick if there is huge damage incoming so you can’t even use the major.
It shines if the tank is super spicy and there isn’t too much additional damage coming in that could deplete the well - didn’t really find a use for it yet, at least compared to other essences that just offer more.
Or just take the talent and the essence that reduces the ooldown of Tranquility, and you can cast it pretty often in these situations. Also Tree of Life is a possibility if Tranq is on cooldown.
Tree of Life and Tranquility should be able to cover all dire situations.
The tranq cooldown reduction trait is really not good for either content.
Neither is incarnation good for keys, only if you plan around 3 mins giant pulls, like the MDI ppl done.
Otherwise cultivation is a lot better.
And i think this thread was about spothealing, which tranq wont help much nor incarnation.
