How to: Kiegval's Rest Delve

Just had a very strange experience in a group inside this delve so I decided to spread my wisdom and make this simple guide to aid all my fellow delve enjoyers.

1)Tank picks up candle.
2)Tank drops candle on the floor away from fire.
3)Tank pulls mob into the candle circle.
4)Dps/Heal follow tank and stay in candle circle.

Hope this helps!

It makes it a lot easier. I only solo them, but dropping the candle (or the air purifying totem in The Waterworks) helps a lot, as you can run around the circle as much as you want during a fight without running it down. I didn’t realise at first, until someone posted in the forums, but it’s a delve changer.

ah. this is really interesting. i just solo it and this could be very helpful tip.

i have a new 80 druid. which specc do you use for delves?

You cannot go wrong with Guardian and Brann set to healing, that’s how I run them on my druid.

Generally speaking it takes the same time then running it with a group.

Same as OP, I use Guardian with Brann set to healer for tier 8’s. At first I found feral too hard and was using Resto with Brann as a DPS, but after all the buffs/nerfs/changes I found Guardian was good. I haven’t gone back yet to see how feral has changed.

thanks both! ok. i never used any druid as guardian so ill give a try. luckly im solo

I suppose as a BM hunter with engineering I’m spoiled in a delve like that. I just stand there, let my pet tank, me and Brann heal and easy peasy. Then I use my loot-a-rang to pick up the loot. Hardly any reason to move around.

I always hold the candle, its never run out on me and im a solo melee.

I tried a few tier 8’s on my BM alt and it was definitely faster and easier, albeit I was under-geared, and prone to n00b mistakes because I don’t use that alt a lot (e.g. forgetting to heal my pet until it’s too late).

I’ve got my DK and pally to 80, which I’m expecting to be easy, plus my rogue and mage, which I think I’ll struggle with. My Fury Warrior is at 79, and I’m expecting him to ace it.

Yeah, BM hunter is definitely more forgiving when it comes to ilvl.
I did some t7’s on this character this week, when I had 571 ilvl. It wasn’t much of an issue; I could have probably managed an 8, but honestly; this is just an alt and I’m in no hurry. I just want some vault slots mainly.

Having champion gear on my alt in week 2 of a season feels weird, compared to how it used to be.

You’re welcome!

There is also the ā€˜fetch’ ability you can get off a vendor as a hunter.
But that works a bit less well (it’s slower as your pet runs to the corpses) than the loot-a-rang. Downside is, is that you’ll need 70 cataclysm engineering skill, so it’s less player friendly for newer engineers.

You can save movement points by moving around using skills too such as a hunters disengage

damen. this would need some work. i have to check if i have some backyard hunter with engineering.

Just what i expect from a Pandarian hunter.

Just brilliant!

Wellll…
I was actually talking about how I play on my main (a human).

This character doesn’t have engineering (I gave him lvl 1 engineering so he could use the Khaz Algar teleport toy during leveling). He has herbalism/alchemy now. Found chucking potions back pretty on point for a pandaren.

But… ā€˜Fetch’ is a good alternative for a hunter without engineering.

Prot Warrior is also good.
