How to know what can be dispelled

Hey,

as a priest I can dispell magic effects offensively. However, I dont know what exactly can be dispelled. Based on experience it seems to work on

  • combustion
  • Mage shield
  • Some dots, idk which in detail and if I sould diss them at all
  • Fortitude
  • Warlock spell refelct (?)

and not working on

  • Ice block
  • Anti magic shell
  • Pain suppression
  • Bubble
  • Avg. wrath

But this is just based on my obervations, I would like to learn combustion = dispell, pain suppression = dont do anything about dispell, bubble/iceblock = mass dispell.

Can I read this up somewhere, or are there addons which can tell me?

Ice block and buble can be dispelled with mass dispell! U cant dispell dk shield!

Dunno, there s no guide about what can be purged or dispelled! Just test it:)

If you dispel priests Vampiric Touch you get feared for 3 seconds and if you dispel warlocks unstable affliction it does crazy damage and can even crit and potentially lose you the game if you’re not careful, its annoying as hell with that perma 50% slow

its actually vampiric touch that triggers the fear on dispel not devouring plague

Doesn’t the default UI show you which buffs can be purged/dispeled?

I’m 100% it does (with only a few exceptions being incorrect, such as the ones you mentioned - which are immunities and can only be removed with Mass Dispel or equivalent, or not at all)

Yeah they are highlighted in some way, or have a border. Can’t remember which.

You should try to dispel divine favour off holy paladins (increases their heal by a large amount), freedoms if needed, blessing of protection when playing with a melee.
From warlocks you can remove their burst cd.
From druids thorns would be a priority, but generally also hots when you have pressure.
Power infusion, stamina and shields from priest.
Mend pet from hunter pets (die Fluffy die!). :stuck_out_tongue:

And I’m sure there’s plenty I have forgotten about.

You can mass dispel cyclones from druids.

Even with no addons, the default UI will highlight a buff on an enemy if it can be dispelled. It will have a glowing border around it.

I think it might work on BOP/Sac not sure though.
