I shouldn’t be in it. I’m level 50. I can’t manually leave it either via ‘/leave #’
There’s a bug going around preventing people from making Allied Raced characters (they’re not present in the creation screen despite me unlocking them) and Blizzard are taking their time to fix this issue. Apparently a fix that might work is to leave newcomer chat and this then let’s you select the Allied Races.
How on earth do I leave this chat I was forced into?
You boosted that monk? Maybe a bug in there is what did it.
I haven’t heard that before and I don’t see anything about it in Support.

Interesting if so. Kind of makes sense. A new player who boosts to 50 would be in need of even more help than one who doesn’t. But the system is so new that we really don’t know a lot about its workings.
I did boost, yes. Strange. I wonder how long I have to play for as I have been playing my monk for a good few days now. I manually levelled him to 21 and I pre-ordered the expansion and used a boost on him so I could grind out the ‘You Are Not Prepared’ achievement for Void Elf and Lightforged. I really want to play a Void Elf for Shadowlands but it’s not even showing the Allied Races in the creation menu for me anymore.
I got that achievement and did the mini recruitment quest line to get both races and I even got the notification telling me I unlocked them yet they’re not there. None of them are.
That certainly does not sound right, if you spent that much time playing your monk already.
I do see the Allied Races acknowledged as a bug here
Are you also stuck in Chromie Time, by any chance?

Just in Case
I thought I would check my own Allied Races so I went to start a new character, and was looking for the Allied Races button, and - shock! - I didn’t see one. It took me a minute to rmember that there isn’t one any more. The Allied Races are now displayed up above with the regular races; there isn’t a special Allied Races page/extension to choose one any more. It seems unlikely that this is your problem, but I thought I’d mention it.

I will just wait and see if Blizzard sort this out in time for Shadowlands.
you need at least 30 hours play time on the boosted character and once you have done that you will leave newcommer chat and allied races will come back.
