Hello im a holy paladin currently stucked at lvl 73. I thought its a good idea to level up as a healer but i think im wrong. Its hard to find groups for dungeon spam, im not good at questing because of my spec and gear. Sometimes i do Battlegrounds, specially AV to level up. The problem is that alliance lose almost all bgs. And the queues are like 8min, and im playing in Firemaw. So it kinda sucks. People already got to lvl 80 long time ago, but i dont see many alts, specially tanks.
You chose a spec that is not designed to level with solo.
If you have a consisten group of friends to play with, then holy works, but all on your own you are dependant on random people or get stuck waiting.
My advise is to respec ret or prot. If you want to have a healing spec available, you can get dual spec for 1000 gold so you can swap between a proper leveling spec and healing.
Yeah sadly that’s how it works. Now 1000G isn’t impossible to get but you will need to work for it actively. Likely also compete with bots since the best way would be to farm raw materials (preferably Ore or skins or cloth depending on the server) and sell it on AH
ROFL thats ur first mistake. U cant just spam dungeons cus no RDF so it’s obviously gonna take u a long while to get groups not enough for u to level efficiently,
Thats why is best idea to level as Ret then switch to healz with duel spec once u can afford it. That way u can use Ret for solo and swap to Holy when u get a group. & if u can’t afford duel spec yet just stick with Ret till u get enough gold
I think you should have levelled as ret then changed to Holy when you hit max level.
You did pretty well to get to 73 in holy though.
Just spam RDF to 80 as a healer. O wait this isn’t wotlk.
I did 60-70 as resto but I spammed dungeons, so either spam dungeons or respec and quest.
There is no rdf so dont level up as healer. People done with leveling so its not easy to find groups.
How to level up us a healer?
Slowly mate. Leveling a healer is painful.
Do not listen to them to level up as retri. If you want to be holy, thru these 80 levels you will bind the keys, write macros and gain so called good habits in different situations.
My leveling was also haaaard as discipline.
I mean i dont even try to quest. But i remember in TBC you could level as healer even in the last phases. (Dungeon grind).
I dont want to be retri and quest its boring. But i guess the wotlk hype its over. You can find groups but you spend half time searching for people. And the ideal setup its 2 locks 1 boomie 1 tank 1 healer. Its hard to find those and also most of the people get tired after 2 runs and leave. Anyway im not in a hurry, itd an alt. But i thought i would have more fun healing in dungeons than quest quest and quest. Ty for all the answers.
I might be wrong on this, but if you lvl as ret and keep healer set with you for dungeons. Your heals are pretty strong thanks to the 60% hot you will get from critting your heals. And before max lvl i think you will be fine healing in a ret spec… bring waters with you
You can’t, thanks to the Classic ERA players
just queue in the RDF mate…
that’s what i did in wotlk as healer… got a dungeon in like 10 seconds tops.
didnt even have to move from the mailbox in crossroads…
it was great.
could spam dungeons all day and night… and often people would stay in the dungeon group all day too…
right up till 4am in the morning.
I did the same thing with resto druid and prot paladin in the previous two… editions?
It always takes time to find groups, and very many times I decided I don’t want to.
I’d love the possibility to grow into being a healer, and a few weeks ago it was definitely an option. If you struggle, I also recommend changing to retribution. Quite possibly at 80 you’ll hit another roadblock, that of gear, and the inability to find “gear leveling” groups. At least at that point other 80s can help you. The anti-boost penalty is trouble.
I took my priest up a level on weekday evenings, wasn’t too much trouble. I sat in queue passively, you can either watch a TV show (some tank or group will sooner or later pick you) or quest in a low level area that is viable. For me that’s Hellfire at 71.
Change spec to Prot and you can pull 10+ mobs and end the fight with full mana and health while doing 2k dps at your level. Use seal of light when questing/aoe farming and seal of Command in dungeons.
You can aoe farm mobs in middle of Dragonblight at “Galakrond’s rest” that spawn really fast. You can also quest just fine but you need to pull 4+ mobs to do good damage and not go oom.
Get as much defense stat as possible. This will help you not get dazed when you pull mobs. There are usually a lot of crafted gear with def on the AH.
70-79 AV is a frustrating hellhole so I don’t recommend that.
I levelled as a shaman healer BUT my wife also levelled at the same time as a pala tank. We would just round up the mobs and aoe them down while healing away the damage. If you insist on levelling as a holy pala get a team mate to level with you that can tank or dps like crazy. then heal and keep em alive. If not then i recommend going retri as thats the standard for levelling.
