I honestly dunno how to make gold anymore after they made AH regional, gathering is completely worthless
Even at the tail end of shadowlands I could make 50k+ an hour just mining/herbing, how do you guys make gold now?

I have no idea tbh. But yeah, gathering is really useless this expansion. I’ve stopped bothering few month ago.

Gathering was far more useful this expansion than the last. By a loooong shot.
But now… yeah. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t having trouble.

i have resorted to just do all WQ that rewards gold on all my chars when they are up. if you have alot of alts its actually quite abit of gold.

Problem is if anyone reveals his high gph secret here on forums, everyone will jump to that and make it worthless just like gathering.

I had a modest crafting niche for myself, but now I am getting 1 gold-undercut by a dork who thinks the low pop realm marked is big enough for both of us.

My WQ addons shows total gold available. It is ALWAYS between 5K and 10K. Call it 7.5K average. Plus 3.5K from the Races. So a conservative 10K per character, twice per week = 20K per character per week.
So if you have 10 characters, you can get 200K/week. You do have to put in the time, though. I’m not doing it; I’m semi-detached this expansion. But it is available.

i thought gathering would be better in this expansion because of dragonriding but apparently that was not a great guess…
Buying tokens. After all calculations, considering irl average income, it’s the best gold/time ratio source of gold. For me, making aroung 20 Euro per working hour, there is no any theoretically possible way to earn 350000 gold in game in one hour.

Pretty sure those things are bottled/exploited/multiboxed in some way that makes it impossible to earn reasonably from. 50k per hour is still extremely low in comparison with wow token which was 200+k during Shadowlands. Working at McDonald’s would earn you more gold per hour this way rather than zooming around gathering herbs.

I do it on 3 characters. I think I’ve made more or less 150k this month just from WQs.

With a combination of crafting, skinning a rare for a crafting material, and doing the community feast with 6+ alts for the chance for a flavor pocket embellishment.
My gold reserves are currently stagnating, but I am not putting much effort into earning goal, so that is kinda fair.
Army of alts doing Cooking weekly , with around 10 usually one or more alchemical flavor pocket drops (depending of the week, it is between 45K and 90K )
And since you have already an alt army? The dragon racing WQ are ~500/quest, in every 3 days five or sic are up + other random WQs with 6-800 gold each like rafting, climbing; this week the arena in centaur land rewarded 1600 gold
People underestimate and hate the Tuskarr tacleboxes but in reality, they are insane gold with the junk trash ittem in them, with an occasional 3-700 gold worth of spices/spool of fishing lines
Fishing for rare fishes are also a viable option - Prismatic Leaper, Frosted Rimefin Tuna and Magma Thresher and maybe Islefin Dorado sells usually for a good money
Mining and Herbing are not the best in my humble opinion - tho’ awakened order always sell nicely, and other awakened stuffs
Consumables always sell since there’s always a demand for it, especially during raid nights (Wed/Fri/Sun). It’s my go to for consistent gold.
Typically average about 40k fire and forget… if I’m actively watching for undercuts I can double that to a 100+k.
True, though the above only takes me like 10 minutes of my time. 
Avoid mining/herbing. Gathering profs usually are low gold per hour methods because they require no skill or investment or complexity and everyone will jump into them tanking profits to the ground having a lot more supply than demand.
Other than that best way to make gold is go all in first month of an expansion because you can make absurd amounts of gold and avoid it down the road (unless you can do some high gold per hour methods like boost) because the profits are a fraction of early ones. Avoid gold making few months into an expansion unless you understand markets and be able to do flips for profit. Most methods make no sense as they don’t beat irl to token honestly.
I can reveal you a high gold per hour “secret” that is not secret 350-500k gold per hour first month from crafting due to crafter shortage and people not investing some time to read guides and understand crafting profs. Gold will last for years. Also every crafter I know quit trying make gold after 1-2 months into xp because gold per hour tanked, now ill probably try again next expansion start.
I just buy tokens. It doesn’t seem to be worth it anymore to try to make gold ingame.

Basically you need nothing that requires gold ,maybe a few mounts
Consumables for M+ and for repairs.
Without alchemy you use between 1 or 2 phials per dungeon, and on average 5-8 burst potions.
That is not counting runes and food, though those are generally cheap midway through a patch.
Depending on how many times you die you look towards to around 4-500 gold per average per dungeon.
If you are doing a lot of dungeons, like 20 a week than these small numbers can add up to a decent expenses. Usually most of your expenses will come from enxhants and crafting.
At the start of the current patch when I got the dracothyst armguards recipe I could potentially earn 10 to 100k gold from a resourcefulness proc. I also sold one crafting material between 50 and 200k at the start.
That for someone who wanted to have their BiS is a lot of gold to spend.
Otherwise the bulk of gold generally goes for tokens for a lot of people.

There’s just so many ways to make some. I don’t want to list them here.
But fastaest way to make gold is buying and reposting , so say an item is usually around 50g per piece and some clowns start posting it below 50g or even lower than 10g just buy them all up and repost. I’ve made about 9 million gold over 3 expansions just doing that.
